The inserts are lovely to write on, easy to change out, and the whole thing has a really premium feel. I'm genuinely surprised it's this cheap. There is a 'slight' smell when you first get it, but it's not that bad, especially if you're not sticking your nose right in it and inhaling to see 'how it smells'. I don't use fountain pens but I do use frixion erasable pens, which are sort of like markers, and there's no bleed.
