Works great, key and the locking mechanism is extremely simple yet works pretty well. I like the double cuts on both ends of the shackle. A thief would likely have to do two cuts on this ULock because this lock doesn't allow for enough rotation if only one end of the shackle is engaged with the locking pawl... Good design. The lock holder that mounts to the bike is extremely loose and rattles when you're riding around (so does the actual ulock), so plan on getting a new one if that bugs you. The shackle is 12mm thick and is at the very least case hardened (scratched it a few times with a hacksaw) Now, I actually plan on keeping my bike for my time throughout college so I have 3 locks on my bike. If you actually care about your bike just know two things: -cable locks are garbage -strength in numbers

I use this to lock my e-bike and it works well! Super sturdy can be a bit hard to close sometimes but keep my bike secured

This is what Amazon said I purchased: 6 Foot/15mm Cable | Style: Security Level 3/Lighted Lock. As you can see in my attached pictures, the lock is a Security Level 5 lock with only a 4 foot cable. And there is no light to the lock. The mounting bracket on my bike created a very tight space to slide the lock in and out. But a security level 5 lock for only $20 - can't beat that price. The flat part of the u-lock seems to be plastic so I wonder if the plastic can be smashed and then the locking mechanism defeated. But no bike lock is foolproof. I youtubed how easy u-locks can be broken into. But u-locks are a much greater deterrent than a standard cable lock. Hopefully the mounting bracket will last and not break - seems like over time it might break. Overall for the price, I'm pretty content with this purchase.

This thing is good quality and built like a tank. The problem is the size and weight. I did not have a good place to put this on my bike and did not want to carry around the extra weight. If I had a really expensive bike I might buy something like this but for my needs it was overkill. I returned it for a lower security rated lock.

A must for any bike

I'm disappointed that the mounting bracket on this is too small to fit on my bike. It would fit on the removable seat bar, but that makes the lock have to stay in the way of my legs to ride the bike. All other bars on my bike are too large for it to fit and I have a standard size Trek Mountain Bike with no customizations. You can see in one picture that it doesn't close all the way and I tried screwing it together anyway, but the screws are too short. I wouldn't trust it with the weight anyway. It was the Level 5 U-Lock. The Plastic that holds the lock pieces in place seems like it would break if I simply dropped it on the ground one time, exposing the locking mechanisms. I see all the reviews about the keys getting tight and no longer functioning and I could see that happening easily from simply inserting the key and testing it four or five times. Overall, I couldn't mount it on my bike anywhere functional for carrying between destinations and the plastic seemed like it would be an easy to break off item. This is a get what you pay for device.

I used this as a theft deterrent to secure my propane tank to my pizza oven. It's easy to secure & remove for tank replacement. I like the inconspicuous finish. It's not obnoxious, but it's visible.

The included mount to directly attach the u-lock to the bike is extremely handy and durable - I’ve carried my bike accidentally from the u-lock and it holds up great, even under unintended use.

Had to return as it's quite heavy and the holders can't keep the lock in place. Very big in size.

Arrived on time, This is a great product from a good manufacturer. Solid combo, doesn’t stick or jam as some keys do in these types of locks, smooth like butter. My teenager has joint problems in her fingers and we have finally found a lock for her to use. We did find a longer cable was easier for her to manipulate. We switched it out with my Norco cable using her shorter one with my Norco U lock. Hers has the easy slide Key lock only seen in Schwin. Great combo at good price. 1 impressed Momma. … note: it also attatches easily the larger diameter frame sizes most do not.

Suddenly the lock couldn't be opened using a key. There wasn't any obvious blunt force damage done to the lock either
