I compared the Cadillacs of this model (at $150 to $175) and decided to see if this inexpensive monitor riser would function nearly the same. It does. Has multiple options to elevate to multiple heights, up to 19 inches above the desk. Opens and closes in less than a minute to fully functioning-and I save well over $100. I added a 4 inch riser to support the keyboard and that addition works perfectly with this monitor stand. This stand is sturdy as fully extended, holding a large and heavy monitor, without sag and without tilting. I highly recommend this stand. No, it doesn't look like the expensive one, the one that has an accordion like mechanism; but this doesn't need it. I keep this fully extended, under my desk, and set it up on the desk when I want to stand up and type. Lifting the monitor (or a laptop) takes just a moment. I'll buy another one. What a cool product. Nice going.

I ordered one of these years ago and it was great. I used the "buy again" option to purchase another one recently and it is a cheaper copy of the same device, from a different company. It is not as solid, wiggles some, and is about a half-inch less in width compared to the original, which makes a difference when you are putting it over your lap.

It is a known fact that some Laptops tend to heat up fast at the bottom and especially while using higher resolution applications!! Keeping that heat away from your Lap and most precious cargo down there, requires some type of table or stand,and this height adjustable laptop Stand seems to serve this purpose!! It can be used with Laptops,Tablets,iPads,anywhere around the house,the office or on an out of town trip. Being such lightweight it even be stored in a trunk of a car to use when need rises!! Final Thoughts: --------------------- This is my second table of this style,and except for first frustrating folding/unfolding experience due to lack of reading the instructions! I ordered this desk to replace a laptop table I had from IKEA. I walked into a wall with my IKEA desk and broke the leg. I spent $35.00 on this desk and $20.00 on my IKEA table. The quality of this desk was so poor. It's flimsy and very low to the ground. I can't see how this can hold a laptop without it falling over. Save your money and do not buy this stand. I returned it. You're better off going to IKEA.

This was a fairly decent stand. I didn't think it was quite as flexible as I would have liked since there are only certain settings it can snap into and you have to push both buttons at the same time you are adjusting, which I found somewhat difficult.

This will do what I need it to do, but the pictures are very misleading. Some of them have a fan, which this unit does. But on the images where the top has grill-like air flow slits or the other one where it looks like it's completely solid, those pictures do not apply to this model. I thought I was ordering the one with the grill because I didn't want the noise of fans. I haven't plugged them in to test how loud they are. The twin fans have a single on/off rocker switch, but it needs to be plugged in. It comes with a 24" USB cable, but that cable still needs to be plugged into a USB adapter which needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet. I have no idea how I'm going to MacGyver that together. Guess I'll have to dig through my cord/cable box to see what I come up with. 24" is a ridiculously short length for a cable. UPDATE: I decided to raise my rating from 3 to 4 stars. I still haven't plugged in the fans. Quite honestly, I don't see myself ever using them. One thing I did notice about the top is that it actually cooled down my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 tablet on its own. The plastic top has a cooling effect in and of itself. Using some apps really heat up my tablet, but the top on this stand pulled the heat away and never once did the DU Battery Saver app alert me that it was too hot and it ALWAYS tells me it's too hot when I play Blossom Blast Saga. Another thing, this stand is CRAZY adjustable. I must have played with it for about 1/2 hr. Just be forewarned, pushing in the adjuster buttons is not for a hand with long fingernails, because those buttons push in deep. Oh, it's wide enough that I can comfortably sit between its legs, even with my wide hips. In summary, I'm going to be loving this stand.

This stand is awesome, sturdy and has completely met my needs. Easy to assemble and practical. With low back pain this desk is ideal to allow me to stand and sit throughout the day. I'm so glad that I purchased it. This small investment is providing a big return in my physical well being. It has saved my life and my job. I love it!

It is not very stable! I was concerned that my laptop would fall off!
