Can you apply this cream to your face?

My father's wound care doctor prescribed this for application on the rough skin around a wound on his leg. He instructed us to not use it directly on the wound, as it is too harsh. I think it might also be too harsh for the skin on the face. If you were to try to use it on your face, I would at least be careful to avoid your eyes, nose, and mouth.
