I am a first time dog owner at 71. I own one of the pickiest, but cutest dogs ever. Ohhh she's really adorable and melts my heart. There lies the problem, I think I unwittingly spoiled her a bit. I cannot tell how often I've had to change her diet, her treats (my vet said she is a good little manipulator lol) in order to get her to eat. I also had to start trying different methods of administering her monthly Simparica Trio. As a pup she like it and would just consume it, but for whatever reason, she developed disdain towards it. I tried putting it in her food, she would eat the food and leave the pill. I tried soft treats to no avail. I tried pill pockets, but that lasted maybe 3 months before she was onto to me. She wouldn't even eat them as a treat. What a waste of money. However, she does love cream cheese and that was a huge success. The drawback is that cream cheese comes in an 8 ounce container and has to be discarded after a week or so (per manufacturer recommendation). So that has been a waste of money if we don't end up consuming it (we don't eat cream cheese very much). But now she is going to to have surgery to spay her and she has to take medication before and after the surgery; one pill and one capsule every 8-12 hours. She cannot eat the morning of, so I was concerned about giving her the cream cheese. I decided to search Amazon for a more manageable way to administer her medication and came across this stuff. Omg, a true game changer. I gave her a sample as a "treat" (she knows what treat means), she kind of checked it out then gave it a lick and then gobbled it down and then came back for more, clearly loving the taste. So I gave her a little more, again success. Then I wrapped her Simparica Trio into it and she couldn't consume it fast enough. It is actually soft and pliable enough to wrap a minimal amount around a pill or capsule unlike the cream cheese which does not have that amount of pliability. It is a bit pricey, but it's certainly worth the peace of mind for me to have in order to administer medication to her when necessary, especially with her upcoming surgery. It's also a bonus that it is is for dogs since they have a tendency to be lactose intolerant, which always concerned me about the cream cheese. At this point, I highly recommend it.

I love this stuff, you can create your own size pill pocket and my dog just gobbles it up. I have tried others and I find that unless I have to give my dog a smaller pill, then I am forced to use two pill pockets jammed together, but with this stuff I just use what I need and it's soft like play doe so it's easy to use. My dog loves the taste. Even when he has eaten the wrap off, the flavor is still on the pill, so he will eat the remaining pill without my having to put another around it. Great stuff. The only down side is that you have to dig it out of the container and I use my hands so it gets under my fingernails. Being a vegan, I prefer not to have that smell on my hands. But, otherwise it's great stuff. And while I do not like the smell on my hands, I do like that the smell is strong enough to keep my dog interested enough to eat the whole pill or capsule. So, it's a win win.

This helped get medicine into my very discerning dog. Super easy, just tear off a piece, wrap it around the pill and act like it's the best treat ever!

This bacon and cheese flavor is great! I’ll definitely be buying this flavor again! It makes giving my dog her medication so much easier. I also tried the green-label bacon flavor, but I’m not sure if I got a bad batch or what. It was difficult to mold around the pills and had an unpleasant smell. If you’re unsure which one to get, try this one first!

This product works well, but my dog is a little too clever. He needs three pills in the morning and five at night. It worked perfectly for the first two days, but by day three he was leaving the pills in his dish. The wrap-a-pill wrap around the pills beautifully, but he still managed to detect them. I’ve now started covering the wrapped pill with a bit of mashed liverwurst, which helps. I’ll keep using these because they do make things easier, and I may try another flavor. If I do, I’ll update this review.

Bean takes her heart medication with ease. I crush up the pill put it in the wrap and she takes it down like it's a special treat.

I gave this one star and I have to tell you why. This product was designed to trick dogs and cats into taking their medicine, as that goes my big dog and tiny dog love it. However, they dont take pills. This product proports that it is designed for smart dogs, that smell pills and say no, no I'm not eating that, and will not take the pill. Now, my dog that requires a pill every day won't touch this. I'm almost 100% sure he can still smell the pills. To my nose, his tiny quarter of an oxy**done pill has no smell. He thinks otherwise. I did not quit. I use a spoon to get the paste out, as not to contamine the tub with fingers. I placed a small piece on the counter and flattened it a bit, making a pill receptacle with plenty of paste to wrap around it. This sounds crazy but if I touch the pill then roll up the paste he can smell the pill from my fingers on his "treat". So, I put on a pair of nitrile gloves, remove the pill with a spoon and place it in the center, carefully not letting the spoon touch the paste. Then I roll it up. Further to advance this charade I take his fav. Treats and break off chunks the same size as the pill paste one. I lay them in front of him. He gobbles it up, all the non-pill treats that is, sniffs the paste pill, and passes right by and onto the others. He refuses to be tricked. I bought this product becuz it said it works well for smart dogs. It has failed me. You prolly will have a much better experience, reviews prove that. Its just my story and I wanted to tell it.
