Loctite 55 442-35082 5700" Length Pipe Sealing Cord, Opaque Off-White Color

Used this on 1/2 inch G thread non-tapered pipe fittings that didn't have a gasket face. This stuff worked like a charm with no leaks on the first try. Seems to be the modern version of hemp and pipe dope. I highly recommend this for situations where nothing else seals the leak.

I just reassembled a water filter system consisting of 4 filter cartridges. The 1st time I used teflon tape. The 2nd time I tried a top recommended joint compound. Both of these attempts resulted in multiple water leaks . After more research I decided to try the Loctite 55 cord, it is faster, cleaner and easier to apply and there was not a hint of a leak at any of the 11 joints in this system.

This the best method to insure your threads don't leak. Used tape many years, but this new teflon thread approach to insure leakproof threads is THE BEST for gas and water. It's much easier to apply, just cross rap cross thread the teflon threads on to your fitting. It's the only way to water tight straight fittings.

I mean, the layers of teflon tape SHOULD get into the grooves and make a good seal, right? I’ve seen plumbers put two, three, four layers of tape on NPT fittings and STILL get leaks. “Shoulda used recktoseal” (intentionally misspelled for copyright issue avoidance). THIS works. Fills in the deep crevices of the grooves, followed by a layer of teflon tape and WOW, good seal. Using it on a my farm deep well and it’s the first time in years I haven’t felt like I needed to crank up the torque on fittings ALMOST to the breaking point to get a good seal. Cheap insurance, get some.

I had leaking fittings for my house water filter and nothing would stop them. I tried cleaning out the threads with a pipe tap and die, I tried thread tape, pipe dope and continuously tightening 1/4 turn at a time. Nothing would work, until I discovered this great invention. Since winding the threads with Loctite 55, not a single drop worked its way out. Every time I walk through the room with the filter I check the fittings. Dry!. I have already recommended this to multiple people. Even sold my father on this, a retired engineer from the water heater industry.

Si no te dedicas a la plomería(No quiero opinar por plomeros de oficio), definitivamente debes comprar este producto, la capacidad para hacer correcciones en la rosca es de gran ayuda para nosotros los DIYers(para que pagarle a un plomero, a ver! yo lo hago!). Hasta ahorita no han fugado ninguna de las conexiones que hice. Según el fabricante también se puede usar en tuberías para gas.

This stuff is good. This sticky fibrous thread (perhpas teflon) seals better than the teflon tape. Amusingly it is similar to the traditional plumbers' thread and 'safeda'! Available cheaper from other sellers with free shipping than what Amazon shows on the landing page. I unfortunately saw this only after I had already received it.

El hilo es fácil de usar, sella muy bien y permite pequeñas correcciones del enroscado sin que se cree una fuga. Aunque dice en el envase que el hilo tiene un aglutinante que puede ser irritante para los ojos y la piel, lo cierto es que no tuve ese problema.
