We are impressed with the quality of the Proforce equipment that we have purchased so far and these shoes are no exception. I measured my grandson's feet to around 9 inches. He wears a size 3.5 shoe, so I ordered a child's Medium, but they are a little too big, so I'm reordering a size smaller. The sole of the shoe is open with only straps across the bottoms and his toes barely reach past the strap closest to the toes. After having him try them on and walk around, we were concerned that during sparring his toes would slip out and trip him, even though the straps that hold them on are sturdy as is the shoe material. We are very pleased with the quality of the shoes and are confident that they will do the job.
