A good book given price

I have never before seen so many typos in a book. These aren't just simple misspellings, but also incorrect word use that leave you wondering about a sentence's intent - a real problem when you're trying to understand a new concept. There are enough typos to be an annoyance, and I've completed just 15% of the book.

Bought this book as a gift. From what I have heard they really enjoy it, great quality.

This is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to understand cloud computing in simple terms. As a Master's student in Financial Technology, this book helped me grasp the basics of how the cloud works and why it’s essential in modern technology. The authors do a great job breaking down complex concepts like cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and explaining them in a way that’s easy to follow, even without a technical background. What I liked most about the book was its clear explanations and practical examples. It helped me see how businesses use cloud solutions for things like scaling operations and improving security. The section on hybrid clouds and compliance was especially useful, as these topics are critical in finance. Overall, it’s a straightforward and informative read that I’d recommend to anyone wanting a solid introduction to cloud computing.

As a reference, it is filled with important details and it is well-constructed. Where it fell short for me was that it was not focused on actally HOW TO OPERATE the cloud, simply.

Comprehensive book with overview. Not for dummies.

Example: What is the difference between three 9's and four 9's? Apparently you get less uptime (significantly) with 4... Given this is a revision of the first book, I would think things like this would be fixed. But I guess not...

I tried to read this book, but gave up. It was mistitled - it appears to really be targeting a highly qualified IT audience. I am a Mac user but couldn’t find ANY references to iCloud or related uses. Definitely not for DUMMIES! All I want is help backing up files somewhere other than on a hard drive or on my computer. 1 star is generous but that is as low I can select.

Half of the book not printed properly. It is difficult to read the book. Please let me know where to return the book in Tokyo

So many typos. Not worth the money. So unprofessional.

The book is deliberately written so that it can be read as self contained topics rather than sequentially. While this might be time saving for some, it means that each chapter repeats basic information rather than there being any sense of progressive build up of knowledge. The level is more geared to a business reader trying to get an overview than to someone with pre-cloud IT knowledge aiming to get up to date. Some concepts are sketchily covered - for example containerisation is glossed in terms of what it achieves but not how it achieves it, or at what level it applies. Other terms, for example block storage, are used with no explanation at all. There are very, very few diagrams to explain concepts; I suspect with a few choice diagrams they could have saved about 80 pages of waffle. The editing is extremely poor - it clearly has never been proof read as there are many mistakes in the text. Not up to the standard of some other technology Dummies books.

Helpful if you want an extremely quick, basic and high-level rundown of the current themes that are prevalent in the cloud computing space, but not much help if you are hoping to upskill technically or learn what cloud computing services actually are. Not sure who the audience for this book is supposed to be. It's full of typos, like all the review say.

There are constant errors throughout the book covering: grammar, spelling, bullet point summaries, tables… It makes it just impossible to follow without getting more and more annoyed when you see yet another error. I don’t know how this could be published in this state. Genuinely shocking.
