I had tried the Furminator a few years back but didn't like it & sent it back. I was dubious to try another shedding brush but have a cat who really needs to lose some underlying fur. The CPB was a good price & the reviews were mostly positive, so I decided to give it a try. It works wonderfully on the cat in need of de-fuzzing (a short-haired cat), as well as my long-haired cat, & my long-haired Dachshund. Love this brush. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good shedding tool.The cat that needs to lose some undercoat (I've not seen so much fur on a cat before) doesn't like to be brushed. She was just as fussy with this brush at first, but after a few tries she now lies on my lap and enjoys a nice long brushing. I've brushed so much fur off her & she still has a ton more to go. I love this little brush.The company is also Johnny On The Spot. They contacted me before I received it to let me know to contact them if there were any issues with the product. Then after to make sure I was happy & to find out what I thought. They are apparently a new small company who with proactive service like this will hopefully go far. Good for you Chirpy Pets. You have a wonderful product.Update - Be careful when brushing, this will cause bare spots, so don't apply pressure or brush same area for too long. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ OMG AMAZING *by L***Y on October 7, 2016* First off- I almost held off because all of the 5 star reviews said they had been given a promotional percentage off to rate it but I decided to try it and I am so glad i did!!!!! So I would like to say I have to incentive to write other than to help the people who have the same problem with shedding I once did....Secondly- I have a short hair chihuahua (I'm not sure how great this would work with long/thick hair) but it works AMAZING! By far the best pet brush I have ever bought. I have always had problems with her shedding and getting copious amounts of hair all over me and the house, bed, couches etc.... after brushing her there is VERY LITTLE shedding and it gets off so much of the extra hair. The bristles are straight so you can comb forward or backward. It is so crazy how much hair it takes away- however you must keep up with brushing because the shedding comes right back if you don't keep at it... I usually do it once a week or more frequently.My dog absolutely loves getting brushed with this!I tried to cover everything I was looking for when I was a trying to decide what kind of brush to buy.. however if I did leave anything out I would just like to say this brush has far exceeded my expectations in every way! I would definitely buy again! It definitely does its job and eliminates all that loose shedded hair. It's also very easy to pull the hair from the brush to clean it without much residue left behind. My only recommendation, and maybe its just a cat thing, but my cat seems sensitive to the pressure of the teeth. I know this because she will try to bite it. This worries me because obviously I don't want her teeth or mouth to be injured. I think maybe the brush could benefit from a guard surrounding the teeth. Whether or not it's a cat thing, I think it could be a little safer, as a guard could also halt how hard you can push down on the brush.
