Awesome! Works like a dream.
I bought this little devil for my ASUS K52F-BBR5 laptop. I was hesitant that my motherboard would not be able handle it but I was mistaken. I upgraded the CPU(from a P6100) and the RAM(8gb from 3gb) at the same time. Initial startup was longer than expected but everything is running perfectly! I updated my BIOS to the latest version to make sure it was prepared. This fits in a 988A socket for the Intel HM55 Express chipset. My motherboard states its a 989 socket so there was a tad bit of confusion but I did extensive research before purchasing. It also arrived a week early! Kudos for that surprise. I originally upgraded to try to fix a overheating processor issue I've been having. Unfortunately upgrading did not fix the issue. I used Artic MX-4 thermal compound hoping to help. I'm still running a tad hot but the processor seems to run cooler at idle but jumps up rapidly while performing any tasks.

Exactly what I was looking for for an older laptop
The CPU looked brand new and was packaged well. The seller included a wrist grounding strap and thermal compound which is a bonus. I used the CPU to upgrade an older Acer 5742-7645 that previously had a i3-370 processor installed in it that I keep as a backup and for testing purposes. Performance of the laptop increased by about 25% with this processor installed.

Average upgrade to old laptops
Didnt see much improvement, fan is running awefully a lot at high speed than earlier when I had the i3 processor. Not sure if thats what you get from this processor

intel core i7-640M
replaced the intel core i3 CPU in my laptop with a intel core i7. seems to noticeably improve it's performance.
