Life saver for my broken big toe!
I have been wearing this for 3 weeks, since I broke my big toe. This boot has been a life saver. I could hardly walk at all until I had this, and as soon as it arrived I put it on and it was a night and day difference. It stabilized my foot / toe so walking wasn't painful. It comes with long velcro straps that you can easily trim to the right size. So it would work if you had a large cast, or if you have small narrow feet like me and no cast. It's super easy to take on and off, or adjust the tightness if you need more or less support in the moment. I got a medium and wear a women's size 8. If I had it to do over again I would get 2, one for inside and one for outside use. It's well worth the price to help heal a broken toe. I tried buddy wrapping my toe to the toe next to it, and while I think that was of some use...this was far better at stabilizing it.

Lots of Adjustment Room For Wide Feet
Shoe Worked great. I broke 3 toes it served its purpose!!! It adjusted and supported my toes well. Great value! Sizing was perfect in a 9 Wide in men’s and it fit great!

Quirky but does the job
The whole thing where the hook velcro has to be set manually is kind of strange, but once I set it and trimmed the straps I didn't have any trouble! Overall it's been a great help. I sprained my big toe and after the first few days where I rested a lot, it's made it possible to get around and do my daily activities with little or no pain. It's pretty sturdy, the mesh is comfortable, sole about equal to a thick soled athletic shoe. The rocker bottom is more "rocking" than another one I ordered to try out, and the velcro can get tighter, both of which have helped keep my toe in place. The traction is pretty good (not amazing, but fine for every day) with the wavy pattern. The other tricky aspects have been: * As a women's size 8-8.5, I'm between sizes. Pictured is a large, which is really a bit too big (especially around the ankle) but provides good toe protection. I've just ordered a medium to try too, especially now that I'm healing up. * The inner sole is extremely flat with no arch support - probably important to be usable for a wide range of injuries, but has created tension and pain for me over longer use. Wearing thick socks has helped with both. Hope this helps and you heal soon!

Make sure you have selected "men" or "women" before size
So you have to be careful to select the gender before the size because it makes a HUGE difference in fit. Before surgery I was a narrow shoe size, to be clear. The first shoe I got was a men's and it was too wide across and too long at the toe. I ordered this in the "same size" but Women's and it was perfect at the toe and not as wide so I didn't feel like my foot was moving around in the shoe and I didn't have to strap it as tight to feel secure. I wear an 8 and I bought the M. It's an easy on/off in the middle of the night to run (hahahahaha) to the bathroom if you leave the toes strapped and just have to do the ankle. I would suggest ordering 2 because the fabric gets a funky smell if you sweat. My Physical Therapist said I could wash in the laundry and air dry - though I have not done this yet. I will put it in a sweater bag so the velcro doesn't destroy everything else in there with it.

Perfect fit--has been a lifesaver.
I broke my big toe almost 4 weeks ago, and although I've broken toes before, it was never my big toe. VERY painful! I "buddy taped" it to the next toe, but I was still suffering from severe pain while wearing any type of regular shoe, mostly due to unconsciously raising the tip of my toe and having it press up against the inside of the shoe box. After 10 days of that, I found this shoe on Amazon. I looked at several other ones that were less expensive, but after reading a lot of the reviews on this shoe I felt that this one would meet my needs the best. I wear a woman's 6.5M, but I ordered a medium instead of a small because numerous reviews stated the shoe was too short in length despite ordering the size that corresponded to their regular shoe size (The width of the shoe is completely adjustable due to the Velcro straps.) When I put the shoe on it was obviously too large, as the tip of my big toe was a good inch from the top, and the first strap actually crossed over my toe, causing more pain instead of less. So I then ordered a small, and it fits perfectly! The tip of my big toe is about 1/4" away from the end of the shoe even while wearing a heavy sock, and the strap crosses where it should. Some reviewers complained that the straps were too long, or that the shoe didn't feel secure. The straps are made long intentionally to accommodate a foot that may be very swollen and/or wrapped in thick bandages. I haven't needed to, but I'm sure, like all other Velcro, the ends of the straps can be trimmed to the desired length. When I put the shoe on, I'm careful to make sure the pieces on top of my foot (under the straps) are overlapped properly and laying flat. Then I carefully fasten the Velcro straps so they are snug but not tight. The shoe feels comfortable and sturdy. I have no problem walking in it at all; in fact, I often forget that I have it on. I only wish I had found this shoe the day I broke my toe instead of 10 days later!

Walking shoe just ok!
I hyperextended my right second toe after hitting it with a steel bathroom door. It was so painful that I thought I broke it. When I went to have it checked the doctor said I would need to be in a walking boot for a month. Luckily, I already had one. I bought this walking shoe thinking it might be more comfortable than my boot. I was wrong. I read the reviews and based on other reviews I bought a small. I am a woman’s true 6 1/2 in shoes. My big toe hangs ever so lightly past the square edge. If you are a 6 1/2 go up to medium especially if your injury evolves your big toe. The shoe has a slightly rocking bottom shape and held with 3 pieces of Velcro. Very, very cheap but you get what you paid for. The Velcro connecting strips are not even sewn on. They are just 3M strips. Compared to my ankle walking boot, there is none. I have worn this shoe around the house for only a short amount of time since my boot is way more comfortable even though way more bulky. I doubt I would recommend this shoe. Especially if you have an option of the ankle walking boot. I use mine only when I need to wash the inside of my lining of my waking boot and have no choice. If you are going to have to wear something like this for very long, invest in a better one.
