While this is quite expensive for a piece of cardboard, it helped me produce tack sharp photos. I couldn't be happier.

I am so glad I bought this. I was trying to calibrate several pro lenses because I started having some focus issues. I was able to discern that the problem was my camera, not the lens. The mirror had shifted a bit and I would be in focus on left, but soft on the right. I could see this from the test shots with the Focus Pyramid. I guess a half-million shots on a shutter (and mirror) rated that is rated for 160K took its toll. Because I had found the problem with the help of this device, the camera went to Canon. New shutter and mirror box. The Focus Pyramid showed me the lenses were almost perfect with a very slight front focus. A little tweak in the micro settings (guided by the Focus Pyramid) and they are spot on!

I can’t believe I have been a photographer for years and I’m JUST now getting this! It comes in flat and you fold it together. The directions are a little confusing, though. I ended up watching YouTube videos to figure it out because it’s specific to your camera settings! It’s a great tool to have on hand and I can calibrate all of my lenses! It’s a little overpriced for what you get, though!

the product works, 5 stars on that, but he thin cardboard it is made of...mmmmm, i would give it 2 stars or maybe 1. why not make it of thicker cardboad or foldable plastic ? that would not impact significantly in its cost, i bet. just for the material it is made of, i believe the price is high. considering it worked... price may be a litttle more justified. my only concern: i calibrated my 3 lenses and i hope the next time i buy a new camera body... it will still be in good shape so i can calibrate them again

Yes, this is a lot to spend if you're only considering the material it's made of. However, it is very quick and easy to calibrate my lenses without having to try to finagle a home-made set up so it's well worth the money.

The product description and photos definitely seem to imply this is a high-quality device. It's not. It's a piece of cardstock. I'm very disappointed in the price. One tiny accident and this thing is smashed and worthless. I think the price should be lowered or they should create a higher-quality product.

I wish I'd read the reviews before purchasing. Had I, then I would not have expected a precision calibration tool made of - oh, I don't know - precise hard plastic. Imagine my sheer confusion and dismay when I opened the Amazon box to find the "pyramid," yet it was flat. And made out of bend-and-fold-tab cardstock. You know, the photographer cousin to Steak-n-Shake's kids' menu (fold tab A into slot 1, bend until B folds into C, and now you have a nifty car!). So okay, moving on from the cardstock material and the absurd price of $25 (they even printed on the bottom to recycle it instead of throwing it away. For $25, I'm going to hold on to it until it's yellowed and brittle and must be kept in a nitrogen sealed environment to slow decay), as other reviewers pointed out, due to the material and tab insertion and whatnot, it doesn't exactly sit flat. Or level. Or consistent. If a precision calibration tool is not precise, what good is it? If it were made of hard plastic, I think it would be a winner and I - along with several reviewers - wouldn't feel gipped. As it stands, $25 for an inprecise cardstock bend-and-fold pyramid leaves a bad taste in my mouth - and question over whether my lenses are actually calibrated correctly.

Worked great and the instructional videos are good. Only problem is site certificate was expired, but I had already watched the video tutorial. TIP: Proactively overfold the cardboard before inserting the tabs. This will allow the product to lay flatter. It took about 30 minutes to calibrate two lenses.
