Full breakdown of the cards I got is listed below- So I have purchased a few lots from different sellers, and this one is by far the best lot that I have ever purchased. I could tell right away by the reviews that this would be worth my money, but after sorting out the cards I realized this is a very worthwhile purchase for variety. The box came with exactly what it described and even a little more! Whether this was a mistake or not, I'm not sure-- but the box I received came with 36 rares in all. 7 foil and 29 non foils (no mythics). I also received over 1200 cards, which is more than the compensation cards they say that come with it. In all, I only saw a few duplicates, only two, three, four or five (rare) of a few cards. All of the cards were in amazing condition- the only sign of age I could see was slight discoloration of the older cards when looking at the edges (save one card with a bent edge). As for lands, the box came with a sealed package of 80 lands- 16 of each. (which is very useful for me, as I don't have enough lands to create many decks). Ratio of cards: The number of older cards to new was pretty good as I saw a wide range of sets. As I said before, I saw barely any duplicates so there was a ton of different cards in the box. I can use a lot of them in my current decks as many of the cards I received were actually good, useful cards. I found only 6 foreign cards in the entire box, so this did not take away from the number at all. See breakdown of cards below for better info- Now as for the shipping- Amazon said it would get to my house by January 3d- January 6th. I received it December 29th, (almost 5 days early!) so I basically got 2 day shipping without choosing it. This is very impressive to me as The shipping was all the way across the US where I've seen similar packages come in after a full week or so. Recommendation: I would recommend this lot to anyone trying to add to basically any sets of cards they have. This lot would definitely work for new players as well, considering it contains enough land to make 2 or 3 bi-colored decks. (monocolored decks would not work with 16 of each color though). The condition of the cards has been consistently good throughout the collection. While these are bulk cards and you shouldn't expect every card to be in mint condition, the vast majority are in very playable condition with minimal wear. I encountered very few cards with significant damage or excessive wear, and those that did show use were still perfectly functional for casual play. For the price point, the condition quality is more than acceptable and exactly what you'd expect from a bulk collection focused on playability over collectibility. For new players especially, this collection is an absolute goldmine of learning opportunities. Having access to so many different cards allows you to understand the breadth and depth of Magic's mechanics, learn how different card types interact, and develop your skills as a deck builder without the pressure of spending money on specific cards. You can experiment freely, make mistakes, and try unconventional strategies all while learning what works and what doesn't in actual gameplay. The value for casual play and kitchen table Magic cannot be overstated.

If you're looking to bulk up your collection, this is a great value. If you're looking to start a collection, this may not be your best bet. The box contains very few duplicates, which makes it impractical for deck building. As advertised, it came with a handful of rares, a bunch of foils and a few split cards. It also came with some foreign language cards (A total of 7 - Japanese and Russian - in the case of my two boxes). The oldest cards were from the Fallen Empires expansion. There were a good number of artifacts and multi-color cards, as well as some non-standard lands. With the exception of two cards, all were in near mint condition and those two exceptions (one had schmutz on it and another had a slightly damaged edge), wouldn't have garnered a second look if I wasn't paying attention. For what I paid for it, I am not disappointed. It would have been nice to be able to put together at least one decent deck, but I'm not sure that's a reasonable expectation for a bulk pack for less than $30 that spans more than two decades of expansions and core sets. I probably won't be buying another box but I absolutely will be buying from Star City Games again... maybe just singles instead. Edit: Ok, so I did buy another one (and another one... free shipping, you know) with the intent of making a draft cube. Since there are 25 rares and you need 24 rares for a cube, I thought it was a perfect fit. Unfortunately, the color distribution of the rares is rather unbalanced and I suspect that all boxes are going to be this way since there are only 25 rares. There were plenty of uncommons, however and this is more than enough to make a couple of peasant and/or pauper cubes. I also spent the time to input this into a fresh deckbox.org account to get a clear picture of what is in the product. I got 1029 cards, not including the basic lands or 2 non-English cards. There were at total of 842 distinct cards. However, because the way deckbox counts the cards, two cards with the same name from a different set would be considered two distinct cards, as would two cards of the same name from the same set if one is foil, so the actual number is slightly lower than this. According to Deckbox, the total value of the collection is $158. Only 3 cards in the box were valued more than a dollar and all were below $1.50. Even if this price is inflated 4 times (meaning you could only sell the set for a quarter of the cards' value) you'd still come out ahead. I got 31 foils, 25 rares (5 of them foil), 202 uncommons. None of these were particularly valuable. The rares and uncommons only accounted for about $50 of the $158 value, with the remaining 802 commons averaging a value of $0.12 each. Doesn't sound like much, but they make up for it in numbers. If you compare this to buying a booster box, you're getting almost twice as many cards, likely with far less duplication at almost a quarter the price. You're likely to find cards in the boosters that are far more valuable, but on balance I think this is a better deal. If you have $100 to spend on magic, buy three of these boxes and a good case to keep them in, then use them as trading fodder. If my box is any indication, you'll come out way ahead and you can trade for the good cards you wanted from the boosters.

Even within the largest block (AKH, Amonket), the most copies of a single card were on the order of 4-6. I don't think I received more than 6 copies of any card except for basic lands. CONDITION: All cards were near mint with the exception of 1 common (from THS) which has a crease. VALUE: I checked the prices for all rares and foils. The foil rares are the most valuable, ranging from $0.71 to $2.00. The non-foil rares range from $0.25 to $0.53. I saw 1 uncommon with a value of about $1, but I didn't check all of the uncommons. COMMENTS: This is about as good as it gets I imagine. You definitely get your money's worth, though I wouldn't expect any bombs. It's a fantastic spread of cards, not only across sets but also in terms of duplicates (relatively few, or at least no "20+ copies of a single card"). I was a little disappointed that almost 200 of the cards came from a single block (Amonkhet), with another 135 from the Khans block and 115 from the Theros block. That's over 40% of the cards from 3 blocks that I'm not super interested in. But hey, at least there are relatively few duplicates! PUNCHLINE: An excellent selection to build up a collection. Also fantastic for Commander. I'll probably buy at least 1 more of these.

I just started playing Magic this summer, right before Final Fantasy came out. I mostly play online, but I wanted to be able to build some physical decks and play in-person with friends, too. I got the bundles for 4 sets to get some of the really cool new cards, but needed a bunch of filler cards to round out the decks. This item was ideal for that. First, it came with more than 1000 cards - they not only filled the box, they were tucked in around the cardboard separator in the center as well. (The photo is from after I took out the first hundred or so.) The cards were mostly unique -- only 101 duplicates, and only 20 were triples or more. And those weren't even all "true" duplicates. Some were printings from different sets. I got 32 rare, 245 uncommon, and the rest common. The mix of sets was nice, too. By far, the single biggest contributor was Foundations, with 120 cards. But there were 32 cards from Aetherdrift and Innistraad Remastered (2025), 107 from other 2024 releases, and 22 from late 2023 releases making up 281 standard-legal cards. The others were spread across the years, which as a new player, I found fascinating from a historical perspective. The mix of colors was pretty good, too. There were around 190 cards in each color, with green being a little light (only 145) and black being a little heavy (208). The types of cards were a good mix, also, being creature heavy (600) with a sprinkling of non-basic lands (35), the rest being instants, sorceries, enchantments, and artifacts. There was even 1 battle! None of these cards were knock-your-socks-off. In fact, the highest value card was a foil Wharf Infiltrator worth $1. But they were solid cards that are frequently seen in decks I play against online, and exactly what I needed to round out my high-value cards into playable decks. Altogether, Manabox rated the collection as worth $96, much more than the cost so a very good deal.

A good mix of common cards, some older carfs some new cards too. I wasnt expecting to get any avatar cards and I got a few, 25 legendary creatures 25 holo cards 25 uncommon lands and a even mix of all the color types. A nice binder filler box with a bunch of playable cards, and few duplicates maybe 20 or so in the box.

So... where to begin? Is this a good buy or a bad one? That mostly depends on how you're approaching it. If you're looking for cards, this is a great way to get a bunch of stuff all at once, from a variety of sets. From that perspective, we have some pros: - Very few duplicates. - Relatively even spread between card types and colors, though between the two boxes I bought, white was over-represented by about 10%. - Lots of Legendary creatures to play around with in Commander. Some cons: - some of the cards are are in pretty rough shape. A handful are in what I would call "heavily played" condition. - composition is really weird. Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, War of the Spark, and Ixalan were all heavily over-represented, while other sets are only given a few cards. - When cards do repeat, boy do they repeat. I got six or seven copies of "Evolving Wilds" from five different sets. - Between two boxes, I ended up with 1733 distinct cards out of a total 2,149 cards. Some things to consider: - Not a lot of these cards are what I'd call stellar. There are a lot of everyday workhorses, some good stuff, and a decent amount of meh to bad cards. To be expected in a box like this. Now, if you're looking at this box as a speculative investment, don't. M:tG is a weirdly volatile market, and sometimes cards get valuable, but for the most part per card value is not great. Breaking it down: - 1233 individual commons, with an average between $0.01 and $0.05 - 431 individual Uncommons, with an average value between $0.02 and $0.20 - 59 individual Rares, with average values between $0.19 and $0.62 - 1 Mythic rare, valued between $0.36 and $0.99 - 9 "Specials," with an average value between $0.02 and $0.46 - A total value ranging between $78.00 and $645.00, with an average value between $0.04 and $0.30, depending on where one looks. I used Card Kingdom, Card Hoarder, and TCG Player as resources. Let's be frank though, individually these cards are not hot sellers, they're not exceptionally valuable, and the total value belies the fact that you will never get the listed high values for these cards. If you sell everything, you might break even. I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. I think people approach boxes like this with the idea that they're going to get super-valuable, expensive cards when you're more likely to get low-value staples.

Came pretty quickly and as described got a little of everything from zombies to dinosaurs very happy with purchase and will definitely purchase again in the future!

Perfect for beginners and seasoned players. Got 32 rares and tons of Commons and uncommons. Repetition was very light and around 4 or 5 cards were repeated i think, some more than others but no more than 4 times. Good variety in cards although my set was a bit blue-heavy. All in all, a very worthy product.
