Update I have now got a second one to save myself carrying the single one around (lazy!). I got a black one this time and I must aadmit it looks very sleek in comparison withthe white one. With the book I tried (and that book was the reason I bought this stand), it was too thick for support ledge and there was no possible way to make those page holders work. Very disappointed and will be returning this product. **Q: How wide is the part that the book bottom rests on?** A: Approx. 1.5 inches. **Q: I have a very heavy nursing textbook its looseleaf binded almost 2,000 pages will this be good?** A: I think you might want to find something sturdier.
