This thing is sturdy. It works well with a little practice. Works well for leather strips. I just used it to thin 13 thickness leather down the center of a notebook cover I was making so it could bend. Couldn't be happier with the end product. Super thicc covers and a sexy wrinkled book spine. I love it. Btw, this was my first leather project so its not like it takes much to learn but I do recommend practicing on scrap leather first.

Holy cow this thing is heavy! And a little intimidating to a non leather guy. But it worked PERFECTLY and I didn’t spill ANY blood!! Seriously, excellent tool that is dead on the tool you need.

My old skiver had somehow become damaged and part of it broke off, so I ordered a new one. Works great and loved that it came with extra blades, as they do tend to wear out quickly.

I just received this today, so I can't comment on long-term use, but I can give you my initial impressions. This device is a significant improvement over what I was trying to do before with an Exacto blade. It has a nice heft to it and feels good in my hand. I am confident it will do what I want. With a fresh blade, it scrapes the back of the leather very well and does it smoothly as long as I don't press too hard. Don't expect miracles; it still takes some work. I recommend buying extra blades because you will go through them fairly rapidly. This item is for small projects only.

This skiver is absolutely amazing. Its very easy to use and the blades are super sharp.

Out of the box this thing is amazing. Way better than the triangle one I had. If you are new to leather work watch their video on this tool to get a better understanding of how to control it. I thought the leather I bought was useless because I did not pay attention to the thickness before buying but now I can make away.

The title says it all. This works, but the specific-to-this-item blades are not very sharp out of the package. That leads you to pushing in more than you should, and can cause problems. Likewise a light touch doesn't shave.

its a little tricky to get the feel for how deep your shaving off so practice before you do it on the main project the shape of the cut is a little odd

Works amazingly. Well made. Blades are sharp and i have the ability to resharpen them aswell.
