Works great and makes for an easy and clean install!
Works great in my 2019 Ford Mustang, easiest way to install a dash cam, also very even to remove and take it back completely stock. Worth it in my opinion.

Great accessory
Installed this in my 2021 F-350 Limited to power a dashcam. Fits perfectly and there have been no issues. Definitely superior to customer run wiring for power. Recommended.

Works perfectly.
Installed in a 2014 Ford Flex SEL, took 5 minutes, works perfectly. UPDATE: Well, it only โworked perfectlyโ for a day. I have it connected to a Garmin DashCam 55 and it seems this dongle wonโt charge the cameraโs battery, after a few hours the camera shuts off. I doubt itโs a problem with the amount of current available, more likely the camera has a way of recognizing its own charger and refuses to charge its battery from anything else. UPDATE 2 (13Dec20]: When I notified the seller he (โKevinโ) quickly offered me a replacement or a refund. I turned both down as I thought the โMirror to Dashcam Voltage Converterโ (dongle) was a great idea and I suspected there was a quick fix. I exchanged several emails with Kevin and he was very supportive and concerned about my issue. Iโm leaving the review at 5 stars because this is a great device. With a little research I discovered some Garmin dash cams have a odd requirement when it comes to power cords. They require a 17.5k resistor between pins 4 and 5 of the plug. In the type of USB plug Garmin uses pin 4 isnโt normally used and pin 5 is ground. The presence of this resistor lets the device know the currently plugged in cable is for power and is capable of powering the device and charging the battery at the same time. As I mentioned early, if the resistor is missing the device will power up but the battery wonโt charge. Once the battery goes dead the device shuts off. A17.5k resistor is incorporated in the micro USB connector on the Garmin power cable. Hereโs a quick and easy fix, if you have the soldering skills. Cut the micro USB end off of the Garmin power cable and also cut off the micro USB end of 6 inch cable that came with the dongle. Solder the end from the Garmin cable to the dongle cable. Since the end from the Garmin cable has the resistor, the dongle will now charge the battery in the camera. I did this and now my dashcam works as it should and is unnoticeable behind the rear view mirror.

A must have for dash cam mounting
I got this to tie into the rearview mirror harness so I didn't have to route a cable all throughout my cab. I mounted my dashcam in a 2021 F150 and this adapter was a perfect fit. Just plug and go. Now I don't have to worry about cable management, or have to see a cable running all along my roof and window trim. It's definitely worth the price

Works Perfect For a Dashcam, With A Caveat
This is a very simple solution to powering a dashcam in my 2019 Ford F150. It's as simple as unplugging a harness from the back of your rear view mirror, installing this harness between, and plugging your dashcam power cable into the USB slot. The harness also came with a short Micro USB and USB C cable if that's what your dashcam requires. I have a Viofo A119 which uses a Mini USB but that's not a problem because the camera comes with the cable, but that's something to note if your device also uses a Mini USB connection. The harness powered my dash cam with zero issues from the harness itself, however my F150 has start/stop, and the power supplied to the harness is cut (by the vehicle) when start/stop engages. Therefore when I'm at a stoplight or stop and go traffic my camera loses power. Unfortunately this is a dealbreaker for me, so I'm looking into a new power source that isn't turned off when start/stop engages. To be clear, this isn't the fault of the product. If you don't mind losing power during start/stop then this product is great and I recommend it, however I want to be protected at all times I'm driving so this won't work for me.

Best option for powering 5VDC dash cam
Quality: Well built Functionality: True plug-and-play between rear-view mirror and dash cam. Dongar powers the dash cam on when the car starts and powers off when the ignition is turned off. Ease of use: Instructions are easy to follow. It requires that you unplug the factory connector from the rearview mirror and then plug the Dongar into the mirror. The dash cam is then plugged into a second connector on the Dongar. The factory connector can be difficult to remove. Longevity: Have not had the unit long enough to evaluate reliability. Will be interesting to see if the hot Florida summers will be a problem. Many dash cams require 5VDC, and in most cases, you can't power your dash cam with 12VDC. The Dongar has a 12-to-5VDC converter. The Dongar is the easiest way to power your dash cam and prevent wires from hanging down to the console. I find that the fit is tight but does conceal when tucked behind the rearview mirror. Make certain that you order the correct Dongar. My 2020 F-150 has a 16-pin connector, and the dash cam has a micro USB input.

Perfect fit. New Ford Bronco.
I noticed my Ford Bronco Black Diamond did have the connector in the back of my mirror. Reading the reviews and Q&A, spot on, this fit mine and worked. It came with a bunch of short connectors, USB micro, USB-C and old school USB mini too. No long cables to thread or look at. Nice and Clean and took all of 30 secs to install, adapter fits like OEM.
