Why get the harcoat vs thier standard scoop?

(I assume that you meant to say "THEIR standard scoop"!) Supposedly, the Zeroll's Hardcoat version contributes to transmit heat from your hand to the tip, thus helping to melt the ice cream a little to facilitate cutting into the ice cream. I don't know if that is true or not. What I like about my Zeroll scoop is the way in which it is used to carve the ice cream out of its container. With the traditional scoops (the ones with the swiveling curved blade that releases the ice cream from the scoop and into your bowl), you move the scoop across the ice cream sort of like a potato peeler, while with the Zeroll scoop you push it straight into the ice cream like a stab with a bayonet, pushing with the butt of your hand against the butt of the scoop. The latter type of action allows you to dig more easily into hard ice cream. I think that this type of action is common to all the Zerolls, and it is what I love about them.
