We use it for everything, even when we need things charged up on road trips. The battery life is great and it's not terribly heavy (I mean you'd probably still get mad if it drops on your toe, right?) and it's a pretty compact product, making it fit anywhere. Keep in mind there are only two USB ports, wish there was one more but not a deal breaker for us. There is only one plug, which is also annoying but we still love having this product in the house. We feel safer knowing that we can still charge our phones or we can still watch our son's monitor while sleeping without having to keep the door open during a power outage. The only big frustration at first was turning it on. I kept pressing the button at the top but I was supposed to hold it down.
