The ad shows the dragon and colors perfectly. It is nicely embossed and the stitching is perfect. The cover is slightly squishy which gives it a nice thick feel and look. The notebook inside is removable, the paper is lined, similar quality to notebook paper. If you take a piece of 8-1/2 x 11" printer paper and fold it in half... that is just about the size of the paper inside. Thus the outside dragon cover is slightly larger than that. At the bottom of the outside back cover it says SOHOSPARK (brand name) with a little "S" logo in a circle; it is not intrusive to the back cover. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Measure Your Notebooks First *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2020* This is a mixed review.The journal cover with a sailing ship looks exactly as pictured in the listings. It's perfect if you'd like a cover which appears to be leather in Instagram pictures but isn't. Packaging was impressive. And, it's very well made.I like the way it looks paired with my Moleskine Classic Expanded (Large). It will also work with a Jibun Techo Biz and WriteWell Writer's Notebook.Unfortunately, not all A5 refills are equal. This says it fits A5s but won't work with the journal I purchased it for. It cannot be used with an A5 Stalogy 365 or Hobonichi Techo Cousin because their covers are about 1/4" too wide.This also isn't a forgiving cover. A Kokuyo Systemic, for example, works equally well with one book or two inserted. In the Kokuyo, I can use a Moleskine Expanded and full year Stalogy together, for example. It just magically expands when needed. With this cover, my Moleskine Expanded fit, but I couldn't add anything else.This has a distinctly plastic feel in your hand. It reminds me of the way your legs stick to a vinyl seat versus the way natiral leather feels. The benefit to this is that it probably won't scratch and should be water repellent, but it definitely feels fake.The included notebook is lined (8mm rule) with numbered pages. It looks nice inserted. When you take it out to archive, it's plain white all-around and looks easy enough to label.I cannot comment on the paper quality yet. I'm waiting until I decide whether to return this. If I keep it, I'll do a pen test and update my review.In short, looks gorgeous. Giftable packaging. Works with the included insert or a Moleskine Classic in Large size. Doesn't fit true A5 notebooks.
