Amazing quality pack
I purchased this for use as my main BOB (Bug out bag), I currently have a couple other backpacks of similar price and this one just blows the others out of the water. The material quality feels sturdy and the stitching seems extremely well done, I did a pretty thorough search on the pack and did not see any loose or fraying ends. The MOLLE works exactly as you would expect and I can't think of anything else to add on it except that there is a great amount(Both front pockets, both sides, shoulder strap and bottom. The shoulder straps them self are extremely comfortable with thick padding. The hip belt is thinner though without padding (About the same thickness as the MOLLE webbing although a wider overall strap). The hydration pouch padding is comfortable and thick enough to protect the bladder(which as mentioned in a previous review is large enough for a 3L bladder), this pocket which is about 15 inches by 11 inches was also large enough to hold my laptop (15 inch screen) and the charger fit well in the top pocket. Both pockets in front are about 2 inches deep, the top one (About 8 inches by 5) doesn't have any divider pockets while the bottom pocket (roughly 8 inches by 9 1/2)has a smaller admin pocket in it big enough to hold a cd case or note pad (I currently have a shirt pocket size Rite in the Rain Notebook in there w/ room to spare). In front of that admin slot there are multiple smaller pockets the left most one perfect for a nice size multitool and the others for a sharpie, pens or pencils) The second compartment in front of the Main compartment is a bit deeper than the front pockets and about 16 inches by 9 inches and the zipper for this pocket run about half way down the bag. This pocket also has a small admin pocket similar to the one I described in the last pocket however on the outside of it rather than having the pen/multitool size pockets it has 2 mesh pockets (each one is exactly have the width of the pocket they are on top of and run the entire length of that pocket). The main pocket is roughly 4 and a half inches deep and 19 inches by 12. This compartment can unzip all the way to the bottom of the pack so you can really organize well in here. One side has a zipper pocket that goes almost all the way across and the other has a Mesh pocket that goes all the way across. The bottom also has some nice compression straps to hold sleep system or tent. There are also 4 other compression straps on the pack bringing the total to 6 so you can really get your gear strapped tight for minimal movement. The estimated delivery time was nearly a month and a half from the date I ordered it since it is shipping from out of the country however I received it in 8 days and it was I received an email that it had shipped the same day I ordered it. There are a few things that I would of changed although they are more me nitpicking than complaints, the first being the zippers, they are paracord instead of an actual zipper which I would prefer however they seem extremely sturdy still and actually are a little easier to operate then a smaller metal zipper. Another thing is that the bottom of the pack is the same material as the rest rather than a more water resistant material (the inside is PVC coated so shouldn't be an issue). and lastly I would of liked some sort of padding on the hip belt but again the current one is serviceable and the pack is comfortable and light.Overall this is a beautifully put together pack that rivals or beats many packs of a much higher price. I am sorry for the extremely long write up but I wanted to include the information that I wanted to know before I purchased. If you are on the fence, I say go for it. I love it and plan on buying another for my fiance.

Great value
I am very happy with this bag. I haven't had a 50L bag (or any "tactical" bag) before so I don't know how big a 50L bag was supposed to be. Regardless, this bag has plenty of room for a long day of hiking if you want an extra jacket, food, survival gear, gps, water bladder and a few of your buddy's items. If you would use this bag for outdoor activities or as a B.o.B. I would recommend the 50L over the smaller version because the compression straps can make the bag significantly smaller if you ever desire. You can't make the smaller bag larger. The materials are tough and thick with the exception of the thin fishnet mesh type material that make some of the pockets inside of some compartments. I noticed a small rip in one of the pieces of mesh after my first outing(likely from something I had stored in there) but it doesn't really bother me. Unless you have bulky, sharp or heavy items in the mesh I don't think it will be an issue. I do wish this material was tougher. The vinyl exterior did absorb some water falling from the cave roof on my cave hiking trip but I imagine it could be water-proofed with a water-proofing product. The vinyl did not become ripped or noticeably scraped up when I had close encounters with cave walls or jagged rocks. One of the most difficult decisions when picking this Mil-tec bag was the color option because there are so many types of camo and colors to choose from. My philosophy of use for this wasn't a dedicated bug-out-bag but more of a gear and day hike bag so I wanted something a little subdued and a color that wouldn't scream for attention in a crowd. The color of the OD Green is nice and not at all obnoxious in my opinion. I'd say it is a little darker than the particular picture given and under dim indoor lighting it appears to have a brownish hew to it. Lighting can change the perceived color so it isn't fair to judge it by one picture or scene. The buckles, molle II webbing and straps are very robust and well stitched. All seams appear to be strong and the zippers have not given me any trouble so far. The shoulder straps seemed a little stiff out of the bag but they really did not bother me when I was using it. I do with that this bag had a Y-strap (to attach a jacket externally) and a sternum strap but if you're thrifty those would be easy additions. I got my SOG Seal Pup Elite knife with kydex sheath to attach to some molle II webbing on the side which was nice. The sheath is not designed to attach to molle II but I got it to barely squeeze through. I am glad I chose this over a Maxpedition or something similar that would cost double or more. I believe you get approximately equal quality at a significantly lower price. This Mil-Tec bag says it was made in Germany. If you're wondering about shipping, the particular seller I purchased it from (Camo Outdoor) shipped it from Ireland the next day. It arrived (in WA, USA) a little over 2.5 weeks after I ordered it, and on the first day of the estimated delivery time frame. It would have been nice to have ship tracking offered but it all worked out well.

Super Pack
This is a fantastic pack that I purchased to replace a aging but dependable wally-world pack that had cost just 12 dollars. The shipping took about 3 weeks, but well with-in the time I was quoted. The pack it's self is extremely durable, and well made. Double stitched, Strong, with tight Molle straps, and tons of space inside. I like the use of the rubberized material on the inside of the pockets/pouches. Maybe it won't be water proof, but I like that it will at least repel moisture, or keep it from contaminating other compartments. (I do employ the use of a separate water shed for my pack anyways, but it's still nice to have the pack it's self to have some water shedding ability too!) In the larger of the two top most pouches I set up my main Medical kit. The smaller one is devoted to fire starting, and related tools. The middle bag serves as my food storage, and water filtration storage. The bottom and largest part of the bag is for clothes, tools, and mess kit/implements. In each area of the pack I had room to add redundancy. Each part contains at least some food, and simple, but commonly used medical supplies,a small 6 LED rubber coated flashlight, small note pad/pen. The point is, this thing has tons of space, and is well thought out. It looks as if it can take years of punishment, as it has the feel of something made to last. I know that it is going to serve me well on the many week long+ back packing/hiking/climbing adventures to come! I also purchased the Black Army South African Assault Military Combat Paintball Tactical Vest Airsoft ,(also from this vender) to go along with this pack At first it did not seem like the two would work well together, but I did finally figure out how to make them work. The whole rig at this time weights about 80lbs, and is super comfortable, it feels like it's a 3rd of that! I am very happy with both products, but especially this pack. I would buy this again if I needed another, and I have already recommend it to my friends, and family.

Great Back Pack for Every Day Carry and Motorcycle Commuting!
I bought this back pack after talking to a woman with one at a motocross race. She said her's was a few years old and it still looked great. She was happy with the features and said none of the zippers had failed. I bought it to take on a cruise to the Southern Carribean. I have an Oakley Kitchen Sink that is at least 7 years old and I love it but it is a little big for traveling. I figured that for the price I would just use the Miltec for the trip and if it got soaked while snorkeling or stolen it would be no big deal. But, it has taken over as my EDC bag! The quality is fantastic! The MOLLE works perfect and there is enough to be useful. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and the waist strap supports the pack well. I have started using it as my EDC pack and I commute by motorcycle. This pack is more comfortable than most on a long ride. The waist strap seems to lock the pack in and my shoulders don't get fatigued. And I have taken a route through the mountains a few time with no problems. There is a surprising amount of space in the back pack. The large external pocket holds my laptop's 180w charger, a large Kobalt screwdriver that has internal bit storage, ear plugs, pens, a small notebook, an LED flashlight with a magnetic base, and other miscellaneous items. The smaller outside pocket holds my Logitech mouse, phone charger/cable, spare AA batteries and other miscellaneous items. The middle of the pack carries a "tackle Box" that holds all the cables, scissors, adapters, etc. that I need for work. It also holds the charger for my 13" laptop. The main compartment has a mesh pocket that holds a 25' patch cable and a mouse pad. I have a 15.6" Dell G5 laptop and a 13" HP laptop in there. I use a piece of foam in between to protect the laptops. There is also a zippered pocket in the main compartment. I use it for small items that I don't use too often. I live in Southern California so water proofing isn't too important. I noticed the zippers definitely don't close completely wehen they come together and there is no flap over them so water would run in there. You could close them on the side instead of at the top and that would help but I would put the pack in a heavy trash bag if I had to use it in the rain. Today, I did accidentally spill a bottle of water on it and it beaded up and ran off the pack itself. Overall, I LOVE this back pack. My only wish list items are a key ring in the large external pocket like my Maxpedtion and a strap to tie the should straps together like my Oakley. But certainly not show stoppers. I have Oakley and Maxpedition packs but this one is the one I am using daily.

Chose it for a Bug Out Bag
I wanted a tough, comfortable, and large backpack that would serve as my Bug Out Bag. After looking around from expensive hiking backpacks to school bags, I figured a new military model was the way to go. Those surplus stores have some, but most either smell awful, lack new pocket designs, and don't have as many straps and buckles. I was able to fit everything into this one backpack and was surprised at how roomy and organized it is. I'm not sure what 50L is supposed to look like, but I'm shocked that I fit in everything but the sleeping bag. PROS: - very roomy - organized (main compartment, secondary compartment, large front pocket, small front pocket) - 4 straps to tighten or expand the bag so nothing jumbles loose - durable fabric that is water repellent (but it's porous, so not waterproof) - lots of places to attach gear - straps at the bottom (large enough to hold a rolled up sleeping foam pad) - thick zippers that don't snag - good OD olive green color - carries about 30lbs comfortably - fits everything from my 1st aid kit, to ammo, a 2-man tent, food, tarps, tools, etc (yeah, tons on room!) CONS: - buckles are plastic, but haven't broke or weakened on me yet - shoulder pads are not comfortable for a women (they just don't fit right, so I have to tuck a scarf around my shoulders to make it snug and not slip) - sits a little low of women, so you'll want to tighten the shoulder straps as far at then go and use the waist buckle - would be great with an additional chest trap to keep the shoulders from slipping - shoulders are very thick and stiff! (you'll need to break them in) - no place to attach a sleeping bag, so tie it yourself on top and hope it doesn't bounce around too much OVERALL: This is a really cool backpack and is quite durable. I'm not sure how long it will last. It's not the most comfortable thing, which concerns me if I have to carry it for more than a few hours. I've remedied with with a thick cotton scarf around my neck/shoulders to ease the slipping of the shoulder straps. This is definitely too big for kids, and a bit awkward for women. I bet I could sew a buckle on somewhere to hold it onto my petite shoulders better. Maybe get fancy and add a gel cushion.

Awesome bag
I purchased this bag for my new profession, a demanding, grueling, wear and tear routine that insists on having my full attention day in and day out: stay at home dad. I was in need of a diaper bag that could keep up with two babies (<1 & 2 y.o.) through whatever crap I had to be drug and drag them through (many mommy group oriented activities). I was not going to wear some knock off plastic bag colored in "man's paisley," I wanted a real bag that could take the abuse. And this one does. I realize that the actual soldiers who take this bag to real dangerous places is a far better testimony to it's quality than a playground assault bag, but here's my take: Pros: -Durable as all get out -Crap ton of room. Need three beach towels, three sets of swim wear, diapers, snacks, sunscreen, bottles, wipes, formula, Tylenol, and a flask of tequila? no problem. -compression straps: don't need all that? just some diapers, wipes, and snacks? shrink this sucker down into a nice, managable size. -molle mounts everywhere: I only have one molle accessory, a Red Rock Water Bottle attachment (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IYGC5N2/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1), but all the straps make it awesome for carabiners and hanging things off of them -internal pocket/ organizers: thought these were dumb at first, but turns out they're al the right size and in the right location for lots of things Cons: -Took forever to get here. I ordered before Christmas, it arrived sometime in February. seriously. there was no tracking, didn't know when or where the order was just had a date ("It'll be here by March 1st") -Really stiff at first, took a few weeks to break it in. I don't think this is a con though, I just needed something else to put in this list. In addition to the kids I've taken it camping multiple times, through airports as a carry on, and hiked day trips. When deciding on it I shopped all the other bags in similar size, price point, and ratings. Simply put I didn't want to spend Maxpedition money, but didn't want a POS either. This bag meets both performance and price points extremely well.

Maximum Comfort & Best Quality vs Cost
I purchased this to use it as my primary survival backpack. This pack is a nice navy blue color, rather than a camo or olive-drab you would typically find. I needed a pack that will retain maximum durability vs cost, while at the same time, present itself with less indication of containing valuable survival items. A pack that that I could still take in public, without arousing too much suspicion. This pack meets that need and more! My girlfriend has awarded this pack the highest visual honors and approval, commentating in her words: "It's nice, and this one doesn't make you look like a hobo." I have upgraded to the Mil-Tec pack from the STM DP-0960-1 Medium Convoy Backpack. I have used the STM pack daily for 5 years, even ran it over with my car once, and I still use it, so I have that as a basis of quality for comparison. The Mil-Tec is >= the STM, in regards to stitching durability and material quality. However, the STM mainly lacks comfort and support. The Mil-Tec pack has very comfortable shoulder straps, back padding, and a nice wide waist band, with a big solid buckle. The Mil-Tec has the large durable zippers that I was accustomed to with the STM. I found that the Mil-Tec allows access to items from the pack more quickly, and that it's significantly easier to pack, because the zippered compartments open up wider. I like that this pack has side-buckles to compress the pack weight, closer to your frame. It also has straps on the bottom of the pack, which I intend to use to strap a small tent/self-inflating sleeping pad or Zero-Degree sleeping bag, but I haven't decided on those particular products yet. One side note: I believe that this pack may in fact have the best chance of survival, in the even that my two Siberian Huskies somehow got hold of it, and decided that it was a chew toy. (Based on experience.) There is plenty of room to hold items like a wool blanket, fire-starting kit, multi-tool, flashlight, med-kit, water bladder, spare socks, food, and much, much, much more. Considering the price that I paid for this pack, compared to others, I saved a considerable amount of money, of which I can re-invest into the quality of products I put within the pack. I expect the durability of this pack to exceed my lifetime. Overall, I am very please with my purchase. I recommend this pack to all my friends and family, and I am considering purchasing another for someone else.

Great item for the money!
I looked around a long time before purchasing this backpack. I wanted a great pack for daily use as a Bug Out Bag and regular bag. It has two large sections in the back and two smaller pockets in the font as well as a large sleeve on the back side with a Velcro top. I use the largest section for everyday items. Books, papers, etc. The slightly smaller section is where I keep my BoB items and it fits a ton of items there. The pack is built very well for the money. I have never owned a $200 back so I don't have a reference point there. However, I have been carrying about 40lbs of gear in it everyday for over four months with no real wear to it. The only exception to this is a stupid liner they put into parts of the inside. It's a cheap plastic liner covering a few spots inside the pockets. This liner seems to do absolutely nothing and could have been left out. The only reason I even mention it is that it's starting to flake off onto my stuff inside. It doesn't actually degrade any vital components though and the bag is just as good without it there. The actual parts that matter though, are doing great. No tears, frays, or wear points at all on the canvas, joints or MOLLE webbing at all. It is in VERY good shape still for how much use it's had. Shipping is crazy long so expect that before ordering. I would recommended this to anyone who needs a pack. I can't see spending more money for a bag when this is such a great pack. For the price of a really good Blackhawk bag, I could buy three of these (two as backup) and I could guarantee that the Blackhawk bag would wear out way faster than all three bags. Save your money and grab this bag.
