I used them to cover a patio where there is practically no slope.. its basically flat. The sheets I used were 6mm and not 8mm but fit snug. Once installed I sealed the seem between the two pieces with a clewar silicon sealant - the small part where the two 48" pieces connect to make one long 96" piece, not the length where the panels slide in and it works fine. I tested with a garden hose and even a couple of rain showers and there are no leaks. It was easy to use and two people would fly right through the install.
