I also purchased a Pioneer VSX-82TXS-S ELITE Receiver to compliment and complete my sound system. (The list price is $1200 but you can use this site and get it for $800)Well,I bit the bullet and made the decision to buy the BOSE Accoustamas: WOW, it surpassed all my expectations and any doubts I had about the hype were blown away. This system is fantastic in every way, easy to set up and add to the receiver. The quality of the reproduction is superb in all areas of sound reproduction from listening to a movie on THX to a song. You will not be disappointed in this product. It looks good, not intrusive and the price is worth every $.I would most certainly recommend that you also invest in a quality receiver to go with BOSE. Again buy this, you will not be disappointed. (A note: I wanted to put my rear speakers on a stand and I found the BOSE stand to be too short for my location, but, you can shop around and get a stand of the same quality which gives you a little more height). The bass unit is a little too long and I would prefer that it be a little wider and not as deep. I use the speakers mainly for watching video. Good sound quality and dialog is very clear. As expected, the bass is not quite satisfying. I would probably need to add a sub to supplement the low end to match the quality of the mid and high spectrum. The speakers can handle plenty of power but start sounding a little overworked if you turn up the volume too loud. Not quite sure of the question. The Bose Acoustimass 10 does not have a television controller and it does not connect directly to a television. The five Bose wall mount speakers connect to the powered Acoustimass module (subwoofer) and it is connected to an A/V receiver's audio output. Then the receiver's video output connects to your television. So it's the A/V receiver controller (remote?) that pairs up with your television. How exactly that works depends on the brand and model of A/V receiver and television. The Bose system is controlled by the A/V receiver (volume, base, balance... all that). So the selection of the A/V receiver is pretty important to the performance of the Bose system. Mine is the Onkyo TX-NR414 and I'm really happy with it. The television performance is equally reliant on your A/V receiver. Now, again, the pairing of the audio and video control depends on the compatibility of the A/V receiver and television and not the Bose speaker system. So that is a question to ask of the A/V receiver and television manufacturers. The cost was just under $1,000. The speakers are GREAT. Well worth the price! At the current price it is a great deal. I would not hesitate and buy these immediately! **Q: What's the length of the speaker wires? I'm just trying to figure out if the existing wire is good to setup in basement.** A: It comes with multiple cables. The recommended install is to run all speaker wires from your receiver to the subwoofer using the provided 20ft cable. Then from the subwoofer you get 20ft cables for each of the front speakers and 50ft cables for each of the rear speakers.
