The best sound you coould ever imagine.:-)
I spent considerable time researching and visiting places I could hear what I wanted from a sound system. The BOSE Acoustamass 10 series IV Home Entertainment System was, by my understanding the best there is; but, I wondered whether that was hype and the publicity machine doing what it was supposed to do. I also purchased a Pioneer VSX-82TXS-S ELITE Receiver to compliment and complete my sound system. (The list price is $1200 but you can use this site and get it for $800)Well,I bit the bullet and made the decision to buy the BOSE Accoustamas: WOW, it surpassed all my expectations and any doubts I had about the hype were blown away. This system is fantastic in every way, easy to set up and add to the receiver. The quality of the reproduction is superb in all areas of sound reproduction from listening to a movie on THX to a song. You will not be disappointed in this product. It looks good, not intrusive and the price is worth every $.I would most certainly recommend that you also invest in a quality receiver to go with BOSE. Again buy this, you will not be disappointed. (A note: I wanted to put my rear speakers on a stand and I found the BOSE stand to be too short for my location, but, you can shop around and get a stand of the same quality which gives you a little more height).

Nice Speakers that would benefit from a real sub
Overall, a nice set of speakers that take up little space - I have the front satellites mounted on wall and the rear satellites on the ceiling. The bass unit is a little too long and I would prefer that it be a little wider and not as deep. I use the speakers mainly for watching video. Good sound quality and dialog is very clear. As expected, the bass is not quite satisfying. I would probably need to add a sub to supplement the low end to match the quality of the mid and high spectrum. The speakers can handle plenty of power but start sounding a little overworked if you turn up the volume too loud. Overall, a good compromise for aesthetics and sound.

An obsolete ite
The 10th speaker bowl system was an outdated product. I have no use of the item itโs outdated and they charged me just about $1000. I requested a refund for the obsolete item and they refused. I would like to give the seller as well as Amazon and if I feel that I was so an outdated product that I canโt use and I truly would like my refund.

Acoustimass
I have the Bose 901 speakers, which I love and have enjoyed for years. Unfortunately, due to the proprietary equalizer that comes with them, they are not compatible with nearly all of the new digital THX systems, which do not feature a main speaker pre-amp output loop to connect the equalizer. I initially wanted to use the 901's as the main left and right for music, and for movies. I connected this system, and I find I don't need the 901s, and my wife is happier with the smaller size. This is an absolutely astounding system, despite the size of the speakers. The sub sits in the corner behind my television. Its a nice feature that they provide all the speaker wire to connect your room. My room is 15x30, and I had plenty of wire to go in the wall, down and across the basement ceiling and back up. I purchased the stands for the rear speakers, which are perfect. If I were building a house, I'd prewire and use the wall brackets, so the speakers nearly disappear. I don't know how they get such quality sound and range out of these tiny speakers. I have not seen any sound degradation, even when I turn up the system as loud as I can stand it. They have amazing power handling capability. There isn't a better system out there for around $1,000.

Just Okay, Not Great
The Bose name is over hyped. I bought these speakers to replace by Boston Acoustics that have served me very well for 6 years and had to be replaced because power surge blew the subwoofer and I did not have the patience and time to try to figure out a way of repairing the subwoofer. In terms of sound, my Boston Acoustics sounded better than the Bose. Setup of the Bose was super easy. They came with speaker wire all color coded. I had the speaker wire hooked up to the sub and then connected to the Denon receiver. I have spent a lot of time trying to calibrate these speakers with my Denon but I just have not been able to get excellent sound. The sub seems to be too heavy sometimes and overpowers the centre speaker. When I lower the sub, it seems to fade. I find myself having to crank up the volume too high to hear the centre speaker. The speakers do sound okay. I should have stayed with Boston Acoustics. Perhaps these speakers may sound better with a Bose receiver. I am not feeling them with my Denon receiver.
