I think the reviews of these boxes have been overly critical and can largely be disregarded. I have 3 cats from tiny (5 lbs) to huge (15 lb diabetic) and none of them had any problems getting in this box. They have all been using it from day one and nobody has slept in it. The lack of a handle is just one less place for kitty litter dust to accumulate, and the opening at the front of the box makes a fine handhold to lift the top off for cleaning. I use the same square scoop I have been using with my old rectangular box (came with the Litter Genie) without any problem, and no need for a round scoop. The clips on my box were intact and still are, although I received extras and frankly, I never latch the clips - why would you ever want to latch it closed? That just makes it harder to lift up the top for cleaning, which I do 4 or 6 times a day (see: diabetic cat, above). I do not think it is any less secure, in terms of litter being kicked out of the box, with the lid seated on the box but not latched. I love that the box has no grooves or ridges to trap soiled litter, as I have one of those side pee-ers. The only thing I didn't like about this box was the price, which was much higher than I ever knew a litter box could cost. But it's the best litter box I have ever had, too. Recommend it if you can afford the steep price tag.

...We have had between 2-6 cats at one time, in the last 20 years. These are the best litter pans, EVER! Read most of the reviews before choosing, they were extremely helpful. These litter pans are pretty, spacious, easy to clean, my 5 cats seem to really like them.(NO ACCIDENTS!)...Whoever thought of the clear top, should be awarded...not only does it save the walls from "overspray",the pee doesn't coagulate where it meets the base. Plus, the kitties don't feel enclosed.TRIPLE "PAWS UP"!!!...

We have two cats, one of whom can be a bit of a bully to the other. Sometimes he pounces on his brother when he's using the litter box. I was happy to find a box that came with a transparent top- it prevents litter from being flung all over the place for the most part, but best of all the cat that does the bullying has stopped being a stinker since his brother can see him coming. The litter box is nice and roomy for my 9.5 and 11 pounders. They can move around and have their own designated spots so I always know whose poo is whose. Makes my vet very happy at wellness exam time.

Both my boys love this design. The best feature for them is the see-through lid. They like the extra protection of a covered litter box but seem more comfortable with the visibility the clear plastic gives them. The large size is great since both of them are big boys weighting in at 15 lbs. each. A definite improvement over the regular size boxes. I like the look, sleek, modern and the color is neutral to use in any room.

These came in quickly and are even better than I expected. All three of our furbabies use them and they are large enough for them to get in and turn around with ease. The bottoms are rounded and there are no grooves so they are very easy to scoop. I purchased two sets of two and all were intact when they arrived. They are easy to put together and the litter does not leak out around the edges when scooping. The dust from the litter has been greatly decreased in our home since we started using these. There also has not been as much kicked out in the front when they enter and exit. I would recommend these to anyone that thinks about using a covered litter box.

These are EXTRA LARGE and super nice...well made, easy to use, and even came with extra clips. I admit it was a lot larger than I realized it would be, but if you have a giant cat (17-25lbs) you would be thrilled. mine are like 8 & 12lbs, so they could both use it at the same time, lol. Really nice quality, easy to scoop (no hard corners to deal with). Its their favorite of three boxes.

We have a small poodle, Havanese, and a dachound that we bought the supposing Ultrasonic Infrared Dog Deterrent, Bark Stopper that completely doesn't work for barking at all. Can use it for a flash light and that's it. A total rip off and will not recommend this product to anyone. If you want to through money away, go to Vegas, park in front of a casino give your money to someone to play a slot machine and just drive away, you lost. How Amazon can sell products like this is really a crime. Customer are being robbed. NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT LIKE THIS AGAIN.

Even though I already had a large litter box for my 2 cats, they managed to get litter all over the floor. These boxes are quite large and the lids keep litter inside. I doubted I would be able to scoop the boxes without removing the lid.. but was pleased when I discovered I could. The clear lid makes it easy. Since the lid is clear it also helps my cats to feel more safe as they are sometimes ambushed by the other. Happy with this purchase.
