This winch did what I wanted it to do but it was difficult to bolt onto a wooden plank attached to the wall in our barn to lift the steps to the loft laddder up to the ceiling. I had to remove the cable to access the bottom plate of the winch. So far I am satisfied with the winch.

The winch will not lock in reverse if needed. Had to install a spring on locking lever so that it would lock in the release direction

This winch works smoother without any problems than another brand I was using to raise the ladder going up to the loft in my storage building.

This is made-in-China crap. If you put too much stress/preasure on it, it will jump teeth, and the locking mechanism falls out of place. I bought it to replace the wench on my boat trailer and it's going to end up in the trash. I have used it several times and every time I have issues. Complete junk.

I use this to help extract my 500 lb spouse out of our swim spa. I feel like that scene in Free Willy every time.
