Great Quality
This is very heavy duty (handle and rope). My dogs like it. One took a little more time to warm up to it. This keeps your hands further away from the dogs mouth for play, which is nice if you have an energetic dog that has no boundaries. The toy at the end will need to be replaced. How often will depend on how much your dog likes to tug (or how much you allow them to tug). Mine like to tug and chew a bit as we play, so I already bought replacements. My dogs are 85 & 75lbs. The handle does come unscrewed as you play. Directions say to use locktite to avoid - I haven't done that yet. I just keep an eye on it while playing currently.

Worth it
Our puppy is a 40lbs beagle. We love to redirect these poles last second and really make the dog work to get it. After catching, we like to tug, and when he tires, he likes to be slowly dragged across the floor by his grip The previous flirt pole we used: shorter reach, more maneuverable, much less quality, light (pole fell apart after a few months) This flirt pole: long reach, easier to run the dog in large spaces, less maneuverable, incredible durability for price, heavy, the metal handle is very ergonomic and comfortable to tug with (has lasted at least as long as the old pole, used a bit more sparingly) The old flirt pole was ideal for indoor use. I was able to redirect it last second and really make my dog have to work for it. This flirt pole is ideal for larger spaces, especially if you yourself are willing to run around with the dog. The long reach allows you to have the dog run far distances while not needing to run yourself nearly as much to achieve the same result as old pole. When used indoors, it is very difficult to keep away from the dog for even half as long as we were able to with the previous pole. The grip, and durability, makes this an amazing tug toy as well. The end has lost some length as a casualty, but there is plenty of rope left which makes me believe this toy will hold up at least two more years, and when the rope is frayed away it can be replaced. The metal rod will stand the test of time for sure

Perfect for small dogs
This little doohickey is super neat and very well made. The fleece toy for the dog to chase is nice and soft, and long enough that it drags along the ground. The connection to the line is all rope, with a smooth plastic sheath over the end to prevent fraying - no harsh metal pieces the dog could accidentally chomp on and get hurt. The length is perfect - once you screw the handle together, it forms a cohesive line that is long enough to glide smoothly over the ground. I could see a bigger dog need a longer handle, but for a small dog (under 15/20 pounds) this is the perfect length. I can spin it in a circle and let the dog run in a wide arc, letting him catch it occasionally. I like to use it to teach the drop it command, and practice a few simple tricks before letting him chase it again. This is clearly very fun for him and I will definitely use it to help expel some of his extra puppy energy.

Dog's favorite toy - good but could use some improvements
Well this is what the toy looks like after 18 days of playing with a 3 month old Belgian Malinois mix puppy who weighs about 30 lbs. This is his favorite toy! I just run it along the ground in front of him so he can chase it. He plays tug o war as well. It's pretty beat up after about 3 weeks of usage - maybe 15-30 minutes a day. The pole and rope *(see more below) is very strong. I don't care for the ergonomic part of the grip and find myself never aligning my fingers in it so I just hold below it. As others have mentioned the middle of the pole can come loose while playing but it hasn't been annoying enough for me to put locktite on it, I just tighten it every few minutes by hand. It would be better to have saved money on design and used a normal grip and add another replacement fleece rope to the package instead. It's kind of heavy too but I guess that's what makes it strong - it bends like a fishing pole when he pulls on it sometimes but only about an inch or so of curvature, it doesn't feel like it would break. The fleece rope toy portion isn't too delicate but once it starts to lose it's form it unravels quickly which is why I think the kit should include 2 for the cost. Replacements are available for a reasonable price (2 for $12.99) and I've ordered a few spares. I'm a little concerned about the rope loop that appears to be stitched together and then covered with a plastic shrink wrap of sorts. The plastic on mine has started to become shredded and will likely come off soon. It's hard to see from the angle that the rope is facing in the pic I took but you can see where the plastic is damaged and it's way worse on the other side of the rope where it only has about 50% coverage remaining. It looks like the stitching is pretty good though so hopefully the plastic isn't the main structural component of the rope loop. Decided to add a pic of the rope loop damage and stitching for reference. If your dog doesn't play fetch or even if they do I still recommend this toy.

I can't say enough good things, BUY THIS!
I bought this for my one year old golden retriever who gets the super zoomies in the cold weather lately, especially at night. It's a great way for me to play with her and wear her out quickly without having to run all over the place myself. She loves chasing the toy and when she catches it, we play a good game of tug until I can get it loose again. I'm able to pretty much stand in one spot and just wave it around and she runs like crazy to catch it. It's been life-changing for us being able to exhaust her quickly when it's too cold to go for long walks. It's very well made and feels like a high quality toy, well worth the price we paid. I also like that I can easily replace the toy at the end when this one inevitably gets torn up or super dirty. Only tiny bit of constructive criticism would be that they should include something like loctite or some kind of thread tape to secure the pole in the middle because it does get loose when playing after a while. There's a note suggesting that you secure it with something, but it would be nice if they included a solution for that problem. Overall though, I couldn't be happier and neither could Kyra. We love going puppy fishing! 😊🐾

It wears your puppy out!
This is a great toy. A friend of mine, who is also a dog obedience trainer, suggested I try this. My new puppy likes to bite a lot and has a ton of energy. So several times a day, we go outside & play. You can just stand in one place & swing the toy around while your puppy runs after it or drag it around. Your puppy will constantly be biting the fleece toy at the end and also expend a lot of energy. A win, win situation!

Durable but comes apart
Great toy, dogs loved it and the pole and tassel lasted with even larger breeds and rough play. Only downside is the pole comes apart since it screws together and while playing multiple times it’s come detached

Glad I bought this, works great
This has been a great toy for keeping my puppy engaged and wearing her out. I didn't even know that these toys were a thing, and a product similar to this was recommended in a free puppy training course. I did some research online and wanted a toy that would stand up to a 40lb puppy. I was going to go for a cheaper option but the reviews said the toy wasn't well made. I'm glad I did because this is well made and very sturdy. I do have 2 small complaints, it gets very dirty very quickly and the toy unscrews pretty easily but both are easily fixed. Overall, my puppy loves the chase, I love that it tires her out. I't a perfect size to stand and have the puppy chase. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a new puppy.

A must have for your puppy!
O.M.G. This thing is FANASTIC. Such a great way to give your dog or puppy, in my case, some exercise and stimulation without you having to go for a jog or worry it's going to run under your feet. You can run up and down your yard with it or you can stand still and swing it about. I've even used it inside and even sitting at my computer just hanging over my back. I cannot recommend this highly enough! This thing totally changed everything for me in such a positive way. My puppy loves it so much he will actually cry if he can see it and can't get to it. Very sturdy too, with good hand grips.

You need this toy in your dog’s life!
The stick is very sturdy and the fun is unlimited. My 9-month over the top standard poodle just loves it. Amazing toy! This is better than a stick, a ball, a frisbee or a cat!

Good quality! My dog just loves it. Would highly recommend, as it’s a great way to get rig of excess energy in our dog.
