Great product but Amazon warehouse damaged it.
This is a great product I’ve used for years on my bird. But… the box arrived with absolutely no damage but the product was damaged inside so apparently it happened in warehouse and Amazon still packaged it and sent it out. The handle and line that goes into the bottle were taped to the outside of the bottle so you had to destroy the direction to the product to get it off. The handle was cracked into two pieces and the product need transferred to another bottle to even use the product. Amazon is dropping the ball lately. That’s why I’m canceling my prime. And that they give my packages now to USPS which can’t be trusted these days either. Prime is just complete BS anymore.

Excellent product
I purchased finch from a well known pet shop. When I purchased the finch I noticed that it was missing feathers from the back area. At the pet shop I was told it was because the bird was a baby bird and it was getting new feathers. After a couple of weeks, giving multi vitamins, eggs, my birds didn't improve, but developed this horrible looking scales. To make a long story short; I know my birds were already infected with mites from the pet shop. I've grown attached to the birds to return or complain, but it has caused great inconvenience. Some of the mites had jumped on me while treating and cleaning the cage. Anyway the product is great! I have used the product three times and I've seen significant improvement on my finch. The scales have disappeared, my finch stopped coughing from the mites, and are slowly growing feathers. I recommend the product, but you have to be very careful while using it because it seems to be very strong.

Helpful!
My dogs were scratching and I knew they did not have fleas so tried several different sprays in an attempt to eradicate whatever it was. It might be bird mites as we have many, many birds out in our yard. This is safe to use right on birds so concluded also for dogs. Used the spray several times but was using others also. The problem seems to be taken care of now and I do not know for sure which spray was successful. But, I must give this Scalex credit as it was one used to help. If the problem returns, will then use one method at a time and report back.

Excuse me?!? This is so great
Honestly this is the best product everrrr!! I have a pet pigeon who freely roams the outside and has some kind of flea thing which makes her shake and be itchy. I didn’t know if this would work but I sprayed it on her last night ( completely drenched her bc I didn’t know how much to put) and overnight she stopped shaking and seems that the fleas left. Best product ever because it made my pet pigeon Rosy feel better yaya

Kills mites not lice
A miracle indeed! I had a severe mite infestation. As a (somewhat) novice chicken owner, I didn't realize we had mites until I noticed my chickens were losing their rump feathers and literally saw the bugs crawling around in the coop one day. There were brown ones, black ones, and the red ones who had just eaten. I also used diatomaceous earth (dust) combined with this spray. Spent 4 hours one day removing all the coop/nesting box bedding and dusting the coop with the DE dust. I sprayed the roosts with this Scalex spray and within a minute, all these (unseen) mites came crawling out of cracks that I hadn't seen. (including the phillips holes in the screws themselves- just to give you an idea of how tiny these critters are). RED mites which means they were full of blood. I sprayed them and within a minute, they were all dead. After lining the coop bottom with the DE, I then sprayed the top layer of new shavings with the Scalex. I did maybe 3 treatments of removing the old shavings, then spraying the top layer (along with spraying the roosts again), and have not noticed a single mite since. The problem with mites is they hide in little cracks and crevices that you can barely see. I think that's why they went unnoticed for so long. Every screw hole was sprayed. Every crack and crevice in my coop was sprayed. I did use the entire bottle on the coop alone, so I did have to purchase more for the birds themselves. The only hard part about the whole thing, is catching the chicken to spray them as well. Because you have to re-treat the birds and the coop. Otherwise, all the eggs will hatch and start the process all over again. Even though it is pricey, I highly recommend this Scalex product. Well worth it! -------- updated on 9/10/16------- We'll my chickens are mite free but they are infested with lice.. we used this spray on them every 4 days for a solid month... so it seems the spray works for mites but not lice. Going to try sevin dust or a poultry duster found at tractor supply.

Works great for scaly leg mites
Worked very well for my chickens with crusty leg mites! Gave them "foot baths" a couple times a week waiting until after the were asleep to attempt it. Scrubbed feet and legs with a soft toothbrush and antibacterial soap. Stood them in a basin of warm water (just to top of legs) and held on to them for about 10 minutes (they seemed to like it). Dried them off. Then I applied the Scalex spray liberally and waited for it to stop dripping. Then I gobbed on coco- butter to seal it and to help moisturize the dry crusty scales. I then put them in a clean papered cage to keep it on and clean until morning, and let them out as usual. The coco- butter had soaked in completely. I did this 2 x- a week for 3 weeks and they were all better! This stuff works! Scalex for Birds - Mite & Lice Spray - 32 ounce
