Review: Absolutely worth the money! - I never thought I would see myself writing a review for an ice cream scoop, but here we are. When I read other reviews before I bought it, I thought people were just being hyperbolic. But now that I have one myself, I can honestly say - those glowing reviews are justified! Using the point of the scoop, you can dig into super-hard ice cream fairly easily. Scooping some of the more "fluffy" brands feels like the proverbial hot knife through ice cream. Stuff that would bend a normal table spoon before you even got the spoon a half inch into the ice cream hardly even slows this thing down. And since it's made from a single, thick, heavy piece of metal, it feels like it will never bend or break, and should last a very long time. Sure it looks a little weird, but who cares when it works this well! You can still scoop round balls of ice cream to put on a cone or in a float - that's not a problem. And it doesn't stick to the scoop very often either, so you don't need a mechanism to "eject" your scoops. Only possible down side? When the carton is almost empty, if you're not careful, the point of the scoop will rip through the paper carton. Which of course means now you have to finish the carton so it doesn't leak or something. OH DARN! 😁 Simple, strong, shiny, scoopy? Spend a little extra compared to basic scoops and this will most likely be the last ice cream scoop you ever buy.
Review: To Date My Best Ice Cream Scoop - I am one of those people that likes to ride the bleeding edge of technology. I pursue things that excel at their intended purpose and if they also look great, that is a big bonus. I have owned several brands of ice cream scoops over the years: from the old fashion hand scoop with the wiper action arm, to the latest KitchenAid. I thought that I had found my answer in the KitchenAid because it looked nice and worked fairly well. However, even with hand washing, the KitchenAid started peeling after a year or so of infrequent use. Back to the drawing board. I searched and searched until I found the Wilton/Copco. I waited with baited breath for it to arrive .. would it be a success or more folly? When I opened the package, I was somewhat impressed. The scoop has a nice heft to it without being overly heavy or seeming unbalanced. The little thumb stop feels great and is nicely placed. I like the rubberized back where your fingers will wrap when you hold the scoop. The scoop part looks unusual and I wondered how it would work. I took a carton of ice cream from the kitchen freezer and the scoop sliced through it like a knife through microwaved butter. I was impressed. My first scoop was very large and I thought "wow, am I scooping ice cream for a giant?! However, 3 to 4 scoops later I had the hang of it and I could easily make small or large scoops. By now, I was very impressed with the ice cream scoop. Then it was time for a real test. I went to the storage room and pulled a carton of ice cream from the chest freezer that sits at -4 F. That was hard ice cream. Let me tell you, it made absolutely no difference. The scoop went through the hard ice cream just as easily as it did the first ice cream. In fact, I was expecting more resistance so the first scoop was large. The more force you use, the large your scoop will be. A little finesse and I was making small scoops of the frozen hard ice cream. I am thoroughly pleased with this scoop, but I'll have to see how it withstands the passing of time. The price was a little high, but to me that extra price is worth the engineering that went into this item. I highly recommend this ice cream scoop, but I caution that there is a learning curve, howbeit slight.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What country is it made?**
A: This is the best ice cream scoop you’ve ever used. In my opinion there is no other scoop but this one. I don’t leave the house without it if I go to a birthday party.

**Q: I have a Copco scoop that is 8” long. Is this really 10” long?**
A: I just measured my scoop. It is 8 inches long.
I then clicked on the item picture to go to the actual page at Amazon. At the bottom of the product description it gives the measurements as 8 inches long. Just below it in the specifications it gives the length as 10 inches long which might be a typo.
Either way, it is still a great ice cream scoop.

**Q: The package does not say stainless steel but rather "cast construction" so is it no longer Stainless Steel in 2021?**
A: What I just read said stainless steel, copco for 13.99 Amazon’s choice

**Q: Okay guys, is this really polished stainless steel? I have an older one and it is certainly not stainless steel.**
A: It is a polished stainless steel finish...I have had this scoop since 2010 and it looks is brand-new today as it is the day I took it out of the box... I use the scoop a few times a week since 2010... I would recommend this product...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Slices Through Frozen Ice Cream Like Butter — Ergonomic and Heavy-Duty
*by K***. on April 20, 2025*

The Copco Ice Cream Scoop exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether I’m scooping rock-solid ice cream right out of the freezer or serving up softer gelato, this scoop handles it all effortlessly. The extra-large head glides through even the toughest pints and produces perfect spheres every time. The ergonomic handle has a soft, non-slip grip that makes it comfortable to hold and reduces strain on the wrist—something I definitely appreciate during family dessert nights. It’s dishwasher-safe and has held up well after repeated washes without rust or wear. This is the kind of kitchen tool that makes you wonder why you ever settled for less. Highly recommended for ice cream lovers who value both function and design.
