Fantastic Shaving Bowl!
The perfect shaving bowl! I did a ton of research before settling on this beaut! I wanted something that I knew would hold any of my shave soap pucks and creams while being spacious enough to hold a good lather without spilling over. It is the perfect size with the right depth, allowing me to work up a glorious lather without my brush clanging on the sides. I have average sized hands for a man, and I can hold the bowl with ease while working up a lather. The unfinished thumb nub provides a good grip. I experimented with heat retention to see if I could get a warm lather, and it held heat well enough for a warm first pass. The price is great for such a well-made bowl. Do yourself a favor and grab one! TIP: For those who enjoy using a shave soap puck, this bowl works perfectly! All you have to do is place your puck in the center of the bowl, give it a firm (not too firm) press, and the ridges will hold your puck in place. I worked up a creamy lather this way, and the puck stayed in place the whole time!

It's a great shaving bowl. You can't ask for more.
I use this everyday with my brush and am very happy with it. The inside of the bowl helps to lather shaving soap perfectly and it's very easy to clean. My only complaint is the exposed ceramic bit.. I don't really understand that, but I assume it's just a part of their design or firing process. I have a weird thing with textures, and it's just a little off-putting, but the rest of the bowl is amazing. The size is MUCH better than my previous bowl also, which makes lathering 10x easier.

Great bowl
Looks beautiful. Whips up lather well. East to hold with the thumb grip and nice contours. It keeps the lather within the both well with the curved lip. I rarely have to push lather back into the bowl unless I’m whipping it up like crazy. I can’t believe how nice this bowl is for such little money.

Works great, for a newb.
Nice and solid, sturdy ceramic. Keeps its heat well. I have small little girl hands, and they are juuuuuust big enough to hold it firmly. I've had wettish hands and it didn't slip out either. Very easy to use with a brush and good cream. The ridges are very important for a good and easy lather. Been using it for a few weeks now and love it. So much better than a coffee mug.

Superb quality
Really love the bowl. The grooves help generate a rich lather, and the notch on the side provides a stable place to hold the bowl. It also has some heft to it, which is nice. I will say however to be careful when handling the bowl if its wet - it can become very slippery!

The diameter on this is good. The fact that it has ridges on the bottom makes it easier to build up a froth. These are good things. However, these good things are outweighed by the bad. It has a lip that slopes outward, which allows even the smallest drop to splash up and out of the bowl. Combine this with the very low height, and you end up getting a lot of sloshing all over the place while you are trying to build up a lather. I have a smaller than usual brush, and I was still losing a good volume of froth over the edges while trying to whip it up. It would have been much more useful, even with the short height, if the lip curved inward a little bit. It would have been more useful still if it had been even a half inch taller. The ceramic is also very thin, so it loses warmth very quickly. Usually by the time I had carefully gotten the lather to where I wanted it to be, the bowl had already cooled down to room temperature. I am not sure what the unglazed, raised, round disk is on the side of it, but it also made holding it somewhat awkward. Overall, I found this to be virtually useless.

I thought I wouldn’t like it because it doesn’t really have a handle but the “nub” it does have is perfect. I can grip the bowl and it makes a lovely lather and holds heat well. I soak my brush in it filled with hot water, have a shower, then get down to business. No complaints and a lovely warm lather every time.

Presentation packaging. Performs like a $60.00 Bowl. Beautiful to look at. A winner. An update: Of the five lather bowls I have used this summer this one is the hands down winner. Great lather production. The sides contain the lather while allowing unimpeded access to the bottom with any brush. Retains heat if you want to go that way. Looks great on the shelf all day.

You'll find similar bowls at twice the price. This is an excellent shaving bowl, the ridges really help speed the lathering process and the shape of the interior catches lather and helps keep it from instantly riding up the side and going over the lip like many bowls. The little thumb stud for holding it while you lather is perfect, makes the grip nice and solid on the bowl in your hand. The size is about perfect too, i have medium sized hands and it's a great and comfortable fit, people with larger hands will have no problem and i think your hands would have to be pretty tiny for it to be uncomfortable to hold. Very happy with it, worth the money. My only problem is they lost the first one in shipping, but i guess such things will happen from time to time. Got a refund from amazon pretty fast and the second order showed up on time and in good shape.

Wish it was deeper but it can still work up a decent lather. Feels nice in the hand.
