These made a great gift.

Very nice book. also very heavy. don't take it with you to read on a plane. it's too heavy. I brought this one and another moomin hardcover book, and I regretted every second of having those in my carry on. Read it at home!

Moomin is one of the most brilliant, quirky, funny and thoughtful comic strips ever made. Cleverly drawn, highly imaginative writing. Of Swedish origin myself I was lucky enough to grow up with Moomin, and also to find a complete set of the original 10 Moomin books (in Swedish) many years ago. I have always loved the characters, their adventures, interesting philosophies and opinions, and interpretations of the world, etc. I am very happy that these books (the first two at least) are finally re-issued in English so my kids can read them, and the rest of the US. Highly recommended to both young and old. Please buy the first and second book, so the publisher releases the other 8 books too.

I've read all the Moomin books, and seen the animated series, but I didn't realize that Tove Jansson had also done comic strips, which have now been collected in several volumes. They are completely delightful, and the books themselves are beautiful and well-made. I would recommend these to any Moomin fan.

I grew up with Moomin and the beings of Moomin Valley, my daughter age 9 adores Tove’s stories as well. They are timeless and endearing short stories for all ages. These comic compilations are a wonderful addition to any library or coffee table, and they make a wonderful gift. Highly recommend diving into these little heartfelt tales of mischief, nature, and the Moomin experience.

Pertenecen al imaginario colectivo escandinavo. Los Moomis los conocí gracias a unos amigos finlandeses. Son unas historias preciosas, atemporales, con un toque dulcemente surrealista y muy originales. Todo esto hace su lectura un aunténtico placer, no sólo a los pequeños, sino a también a los adultos. En definitiva, un disfrute para todos.

英語の勉強と、ムーミンの絵が好きだったのと･･･で購入しました。Ａ4よりちょっと大きめのサイズで表紙も背も布系の生地でしっかりとした作り。愛蔵版と言える本です。字も絵も手書きで温かみがあり図書館で見た日本語版より断然、すてきです。部屋に置いてあっても素敵で、ムーミンファンならこちらの英語版のほうが長く愛せると思います。時にシュールな内容ですが、英語も絵があるので想像しやすく、知らない単語が出てきてもまず憶測してみて、それから辞書ひいてみると当たり！ということも多く そうやって触れた単語はけっこう覚えてたりします。これは1巻に続いて買いましたがシリーズでそろえるつもりです。
