I wanted to get another mount for my mountain bike. This one looks similar to SRAM and is cheaper, so I gave it a try. Both mounts are about the same length, but there are a few noticeable differences. First, the VeloChampion mount comes with rubber shims so you can easily mount it on skinnier handlebars (the SRAM only supports 31.8mm unless you get shims separately). Second, the VeloChampion uses a common 3mm hex wrench to tighten, instead of the Torx used by SRAM. Third, the SRAM mount is a single piece of plastic, while the VeloChampion it two pieces with a hinge on the handlebar clamp. The hinge makes the VeloChampion easier to install, but I am guessing that the SRAM will be stronger and more durable in the long run. The SRAM mount is also a little sleeker looking, though you don't notice when your Garmin is mounted. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Better Computer Mount Design at Less than Half the Price *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on April 2, 2016* This design is significantly better design than Garmin's own forward mount (which sells for about $34). I paid $14 for the VeloChampion Mount and bought 2, one for my road bike and one for my mountain bike. I installed it last night on my mountain bike and was really impressed.1. The design of VeloChampion's mount fit on the narrowest part of my handle bars without the two gaskets that came with it. The mounting screw is larger and much easier to insert and adjust, and the design provides a better angle than the Garmin bracket.2. The price point is excellent.3. I have several Garmin devices and multiple bikes so but at Garmin's $34 price I was reluctant to purchase spares.4. These mounts are out in front of your handle bars and a spill can snap them off (that happened to me last weekend) leaving my Garmin Edge 510 dangling from it's safety lanyard. I had no spare to replace it, so I tried using the 510 by inserting it between two zippers on my handle-bar mounted gear bag, just enough to expose the antenna end toward the sky, but I couldn't secure it, and during the ride, the 510 was lost. Now I have a spare.I highly recommend this mount. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not great *by B***E on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on April 16, 2015* I've taken this for a ride and it works - the Garmin didn't fall off. The clamp has two soft pads on the inside (in addition to the supplied shims) and I had to tear one off, as it wouldn't fit my garden-variety Bontrager bar.The Garmin ends up sitting above the bar; I would prefer it to be lower - right in front of the stem faceplate. In addition to the (negligible) aero gain, that's what the pro setup looks like.As you can see in a picture from another review, there's about half an inch of space on the bars between the stem and the mount. Why is that? I'd prefer less plastic and a bit more handlebar space.Finally, it seems that my Garmin ends up ever so slightly tilted counterclockwise.Overall, not sure it was worth getting this as opposed to sticking with the little base the Garmin had come with (which attaches to the bars or stem with rubber bands). Perhaps the mere fact that it's further out reduces the time that your eyes are off the road, but I haven't felt much difference.UPDATE 8/7/16: I got a BarFly 2.0 instead and couldn't be happier. It looks better and it works better.
