Will this work with gas station air pumps?

Typical gas station air hoses for public use have fixed air fittings that can’t be removed. This prevents theft. So no, I don’t think you will find many gas stations wher you could use this.

How do you change the batteries?

With the front of the gauge facing you PEEL the top of the rubber case back to expose the back of the tire gauge and you will see the battery compartment.

why is there only 30 day warranty if it's such great quality

the seller might have a 30 day warranty to ensure it was not damaged while shipped, etc.
