He was diagnosed with cushings disease this year. Due to his age we did not test the cushings to see what type he has. (I’m not a medical professional, something about his brain is either making too much natural steroids or not enough.) The testing process is a very long and stressful experience for dogs. And after all of the testing, sometimes the drugs they can try do not work. We decided with our vet to just keep him comfortable and skip the lengthy testing. I took him to a new groomer and I told her he has cushings. She told me about this product and said she had a dog with cushings and they did do the testing process because their dog was a young 5 year old dog. Unfortunately he didn’t respond to any of the prescription treatments. (She is not affiliated with this brand and she does not sell this product.) I got home and I researched it and decided to get it when the groomer told me her dog responded very well to it. It is definitely out of my price range of what I can afford. However. It’s results have proven it’s something that I have to work in to my budget for my senior “puppy.” He isn’t panting as much and he isn’t drinking loads of water anymore. And his skin/coat is looking healthier. To my relief, he has shown major improvement. As with any new dog food, it did cause his stools to change for about a week. But my dog is sensitive to dietary changes and this is typical for him. When his stools balance out it confirms to me that his tummy just needed to adjust to it. He’s been on it for about 7 months now and I’m so thankful he has this. I highly recommend this if you need to treat your fur baby for cushings disease!Edited to add exciting news! My dog has been using this for a full year. He had his yearly exam and blood work. I was shocked when the vet just called me and told me his blood work was all in normal range! And the concerning levels before are actually way better. I rarely leave reviews but my dog is my fur baby and if this product can help someone else’s fur baby I really want to let you know there is hope! I’m going to continue using this even though his blood levels are normal and improved. I’m in disbelief considering his age! He is now 15 years 3 months and as happy as a puppy. I gotta admit, there were days when I didn’t think it was working, and days she actually got worse with the Cushings symptoms…frequent urination, frequent thirst, some anxiety…but I contd to give her the product, and she’s now doing FABULOUS! And she’s sleeping like a lamb…nice long naps and sleeps 99% of the time through the night. I have a picky Chi, and there’s no way she would eat her food if I sprinkled it on, so I purchased a large syringe with a bigger hole in the bottom, and mixed a scoop of the C Crusher with Cushex S & Cushex M liquid formulas, and a dropper of Euromaxx urinary kidney and bladder formula juice. I also crush Melatonin and HMR lignins from a company called Select (Follow their instructions on the bottles). I added just a few drops of water to get a Med Thick consistency. I’m not trying to sell any of these items. I just was at a loss of what to do, and I’m hoping that this will help others, as it has helped my Princess. The combination is OUTSTANDING! She went from excessively urinating, 10 to 13 times a day to now 5 to 6. It’s been almost 2 months. I have been consistent, and I didn’t give up, so I would encourage you to give it time. Their bodies have to get used to it and make some adjustments. It’s a lot of work fixing everything but you only have to do it one time a day, and they’re worth it.
