The Best of the Best
I did a lot of research and looked into several brands when it came to weighted vests. Had one weight vest (a brand named Go Gear that was definitely a no-go) that literally ripped while I was training with it for the first time. Got that one at Big 5 -- avoid that one at all cost. I researched the MIR vest and purchased it due to its reported quality and durability. I've been using it for a week and the MIR vest is easily my favorite/best/smartest purchase in recent memory. It's a high-quality, durable vest that will withstand a tough training regiment. The weights are metal, and I found them extremely easy to add and take out -- despite what some of these dummies in their reviews are saying about having difficulty doing this simple task. The vest itself, while worn, is easy to get used to. You can strap yourself in real tight so the weights don't bounce around or shift -- perfect for running, hiking, pull-ups, push-ups, and many other exercises. Bottom line, this vest is worth every penny. Purchase this one and enjoy the ride.

Great Purchase; would definitely recommend
After spending a good amount of time searching online for a well built vest, and decided the MIR over V-Force. I am training for crossfit and SEAL, and found that the shape of the MIR is more effective for close-hand exercises and provides the most overhead mobility. Right out of the box, vest didn't have instructions on how to set up the straps; but a little common sense, a youtube video, or some pictures will set you on your way. Have been running 3-5 mile distances, plus sprints with the vest reduced to 20 lbs without noticing any degradation to form. Sits comfortably on the shoulders. The first few days experienced mild discomfort with red markings around shoulders and armpits due to strapping, but was quickly overcome. I sometimes run at night, and wear a reflective band, but the MIR vest also provides a horizontal silver reflective strip about a 1/4" across the back. Each pouch holds two 1.5 lb bricks. It's worth mentioning that the pouches are just the right size for my molle pouches to carry my multi-tool and flashlight. Extremely pleased with shipping. Item was shipped same day as ordered, on the 3rd, and then received via USPS on the 6th (one day early). I'm an impatient consumer when it comes to online orders, and was happily surprised by the s/h service. I ordered this over the V-force specifically due to shape and mobility, however, I wish that MIR provided the same options as V-Force; color or pattern on vest, and a sweat liner. Overall, extremely pleased and would definitely recommend.

Great weight vest for ANY price range!
This weight vest is the real deal. I've had it for about a week and used it a few times already. I purchased the 60lb non-zipper version and it is very sturdy. Even when fully loaded and synched down it is pretty stationary on your body. I had a neoprene weight vest before which was half the weight, and it bounced around like a bag of water on my chest. Overall the build quality is very good, and the weights are secured nice and tight when in their pouches. I have nearly full range of motion for pushups, and pullups, AND the weight is well distributed from front to rear. My only gripe about this vest is the strap system. The straps are permanently fixed to the rear of the vest, and slide through a pair of D shaped rings on the front of the vest to be secured again via velcro towards the back of the vest. Not only are the rings a bad shape because they scrunch the straps down to the center of the "D" shaped ring, but trying to strap a piece of velcro to the back of a 60lb vest while trying to keep the strap taut, is pretty difficult. In my opinion the strap system should be reversed so that you pull the straps forward to tighten the vest down and secure the velcro. This change would make it harder to initially get the strap through the rings, but it would be far easier to secure the velcro, AND you could synch the vest down tighter. Food for thought. Bottom line, it's a great vest and should last a long time. Thanks!

Perfect
Nothing bad to say. This thing is rugged and well designed. Just ease into it - wearing too much weight you realize it and start feeling light headed. Ordered an extra set of 6 weights, but it comes with 6x 3 lb weights. Honestly, that's plenty to start with since most other vests stop at 10 lbs., but I wanted to make sure I had them available upfront. Fully loaded you get two rows of 6 pockets both in the front and the back, 24 total x 3 lbs weights you can get it to 72 lbs, which hats off to you if you can manage that. The weights are solid metal similar enough to a bar of soap in size, for a rough approximation. If you're crafty you could probably figure out your own weights out of smooth rocks or whatever but in a bag or something so they don't skip out, the pockets are open at the top and there's one big flap over them all, but smaller things would probably get out - you need to fill up the pocket. The metal bars are coated to not rust, slide in and out nicely, and not move around - they are perfect, just a little spendy. It lays comfortably, very rugged material even for the pockets which apparently isn't very common. The weights are snug in the pockets and have a large heavy Velcro flap that closes over the top - they aren't going anywhere whatever you do in any direction, any force. The shoulders have thick Velcro to attach the front to the back, so you can adjust it to your frame. With standard 6 weights, it held fine by itself, but with extra weights the Velcro would start to loosen up then I noticed the extra straps and double D rings to go over the shoulders to keep it together, basically use the Velcro to get the fitting right then strap it to keep it in place with weight. There are other straps to go around that will keep it from flopping around. Run, flip, jump, whatever - it'll be there for you. The head opening is pretty big, which is a good thing. It lifts on and off pretty easily. Setting it down it folds over in logical places even with the weights in, so it stores nicely overnight. There's no way this would hide under a shirt, but hopefully that goes without saying. Starting off, take it easy and wear it around the house to get a feel for how long you can wear it & how much weight. Too much can make it hard to breathe & make you lightheaded. This is perfect to grow into, take your time and do it smart, this thing will be there for the journey over years, I'm confident.

For the price you can’t beat it
It looks great, Stays in place for inverted calisthenics movements Running 5k, speed, hill work Jump rope and shadow boxing... I also do a lot of burpees You can crank it down but it will restrict breathing but truthfully it doesn’t need it. I do double unders constantly and only have to to minor position adjustments. It’s short style allows me to wear it with a weighted dip belt just in case you need to level up past the base weight. The Zip is the better choice but it’s less max weight, I only got the zip because I wanted to easily put it on and take it off during a HIIT but truthfully, Once I finish with the heavy stuff, I drop it down to 20 or 30 pounds and literally do my whole workout wearing it. Literally it’s perfect except durability, I workout really hard 2 to 3 hours sometimes. It doesn’t feel cheap but after my first workout the Velcro is getting fuzzy, hopefully it holds up.

Comfortable and Not Bulky
This weight vest is good quality. I use it a handful of times a week. It's held up well so far, with no sign of wear yet. It's comfortable to wear. It doesn't dig into my shoulders and fits well due to its adjustability. It's also rather trim. It's not big and bulky. I wouldn't recommend wearing it while doing bench presses. It's probably to bulky for that particular exercise. But for cardio exercises and leg day, it's perfect. Happy with my purchase.

Don't buy the bogus reviews!!
If you plan on your upper traps being in pain after just wearing this for between 8 to 12 minutes then definitely purchase this! Wore it for a few weeks walking the dog and the same story every time, after about 10 or 12 minutes, all you can really think about is how much this thing is uncomfortable. Don't believe the bogus reviews that talk about wearing this thing all day. I would love to see a video of that. Absolutely no chance for someone. The side straps are useless so get ready to throw those away and the customer service is terrible. When I contacted Mir, they told me to "take weight out of it"! Lol And I had already explained to them that it had nothing to do with the weight, I'm 6 foot three, 220 pounds and I've been an athlete my entire life, a personal trainer for the last 10 years and I have about 10% body fat just to give you a picture so I'm pretty sure I'm strong enough to carry this thing. It's just a matter of the lack of padding, the Shoddy designed to carry so much weight. Their next answer was "buy shoulder pads", lol. I was assured that these shoulder pads were made by the same company, which happens to be runmax. Well if they don't fit! LOL. Just like I thought, this company is only interested in trying to avoid refunds and covering the shipping cost. If you buy anything like this, buy it from a department store where you can return it easily. The shipping on these things is a nightmare. So basically I was told to take some of the weight out of the vast, purchase new shoulder pads and all the while they refused to pay for the shipping on the way back. Fortunately Amazon is a great company and they reimbursed me for the shipping after many emails back-and-forth. Don't waste your time! I would look up calorie burn and how much you actually burn weighing 50 pounds more on let's say a 5 mile walk. It's super negligible for the amount of pain in your traps you will have to endure. Do yourself a favor, circuit train and don't waste A dollar with this deceptive company Mir.
