If you just want an easy way to snap a photo, this works. If you expect to be able to zoom in and out and select pic or video, this device may not work for you.The seller's write up is misleading (IMHO). The sealer would be wise to put some warnings/instructions instead of saying "Works on all major phones since 2014."The button acts like a keyboard and sends different commands for the buttons. The features of the remote are somewhat limited by the stock android camera app. The video button (left) sends '4', camera buttons sends a '5', center button sends '<RETURN>", zoom in sends <VolUp> and zoom out sends <VolDn>Initially, the zoom and enter buttons all took pics.I changed my camera settings so that my Volume buttons would zoom. This enabled Zoom In and Zoom Out.But the Pic and Video buttons don't work.Basically, you need a camera app that let's you maps buttons (more accurately signals from the keyboard) to actions.I tried the first two free phone apps on google play and neither supported the feature.

This remote is functionally unusable. The buttons worked about 1 out of 4 times that they were pressed, The instructions were incomplete, included directions to download software from Google Play that does not exist and referenced scanning a QR code on the back of the manual if unable to locate software, only there was no QR code. There was also a loose plastic piece rattling around in the box, I'm not sure where it came from, it matched the plastic that the button was made of, but I can't find anyplace it might have broken off from. On the positive side, it paired easily with my LG tablet, now if it only worked...

Bought this for use with galaxy note 5, I was disappointed that the zoom and video to camera do not work, they work the volume instead. Supposedly the BT Shutter app gives more functionality but is only available for the iphone. Tried other BT apps but have not found one that I like, until I do I can use this a a shutter release only.

This remote did not work the video controls like it said it would in the description. I tried pairing it through Bluetooth and it paired and worked the camera, but would not start/stop the video recorder. I tried using the app they suggested in the directions. Unfortunately there were many many apps that fit the vague description in the directions. Very disappointed!The phone I was using is the Samsung Note 3
