With pre bulged rivenuts you get a Much better result. Most tool “kits” come with standard ones. They don’t grip as well. If holding power is critical these are great.

Was using standard rivnuts, and they worked well, but I wanted something with more surface area. I tried these and they worked great. I have more confidence in the amount of surface area these use. Will certinly reach for these over the other version when possible.

They hold items together.

Couldn't find these at my local hardware store. These work great for my cargo van to fasten the shelving to the walls.

Be careful, these like to set a little misaligned and the pilot hole tolerances aren't friendly to any misalignment.

I tried using rivnuts but the material was too thick, these made mounting my roof piece possible. You may have an issue with whatever rivnuts took you use since the threads have to be much longer since there’s a gap where it folds down.

Worked perfectly for attaching fenders to a UTV

Used to secure a ~4gal tank to a 1/4” aluminum deck. If you have access to the backside set with (2) nuts and bolt. Thread a nut onto the bolt, thread the bolt through the rivet, drop it through the hole, use the last nut on the end of the bolt to lock the rivet in place on the bolt so it won’t spin. Hold the bolt to keep in place and spin the top nut to pull the bolt up setting the rivet. If installing blind consider an impact wrench and a well lined bolt. Impact force (actually creates less torsional force) should minimize spin of rivet just watch the force.
