## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this require its own faucet, a connection to the existing faucet, or does it connect directly to a cold water line?**
A: Hello Elisse, great question, thanks for inquiring with us. The CuZn 5 Stage Reverse Osmosis System comes with a Filter Faucet included that you'll install next to the existing sink that will only dispense filtered water. The flow rate of Reverse Osmosis Systems is quite limited, that is why they come with the holding tank shown to the left of the filter in the profile image. A 50 gallon per day reverse osmosis system is capable producing up to 50 gallons of filtered water over the course of 24 hours, so that is only 2 gallons per hour which makes this type of water filter unsuitable for direct to cold water line connection. The holding tank holds a few gallons of water that has already been filtered through the RO, that way you can fill up your containers with filtered water without having to wait for the RO filter the water. CuZn does manufacture a different type of water filter that connects directly to the existing cold water line, to view that system you can visit this link to the Amazon product listing page: https://www.amazon.com/CuZn-UC-200-Counter-Water-Filter/dp/B000923524/Thank you, Chris @ CuZn Water & Air Filters 800.345.PURE (7873)Phone Support: 8am-5:30pm est, M-F

**Q: I realize the flow rate is limited but will it connect to an existing faucet if I chose to do so?**
A: Hello David, great question, thanks for inquiring with us! While possible from a technical plumbing standpoint, The CuZn 5 Stage RO System will not work for a direct to cold water line installation in it's standard format. There is perhaps a suitable way of accommodating this by fitting the system with a larger pressure tank. I'd like to discuss this set up with you in a bit greater detail. I'm out today with the flu but well on the mend and expect to be back in the office tmrw. Could you give me a call at your convenience to discuss options for this type of installation in a bit greater detail? (contact info below)

**Q: water in my house is too soft, does this product turns the water normally?**
A: Hello, great question, thanks for inquiring with us! The CuZn 5 Stage RO System will remove hard water minerals. If your water is too soft, you may be referring to a newly installed Whole House Water Softening System. Whole House Water Softeners do add salt to the water that is treated, the harder the water is = the more salt added by the softener. if that salt is the cause of your issues the only type of filter system that will reduce the added salts is a Reverse Osmosis System. Water that is treated by a Reverse Osmosis System can have some hardness minerals added back into the purified water by installing a "remineralization filter" to the system. Simply search "reminerlization filter" on Amazon to learn more about these filters. These remineralization filters need super pure RO water or water that is acidic in order to function. If the remineralization filter is installed on water is not pure RO Water or naturally Acidic water, the minerals will not dissolve into the water and add minerals. Please do give us a call if you wish to discuss any additional questions you have in greater detail! (contact info below)

**Q: What is the inside of the tank? Is it stainles steel?**
A: Hello Richard, great question, thanks for inquiring with us! The RO Tank is NSF Certified to standard 61 to ensure nothing leaches from the material inside. The Tank is made out of Stainless Steel and there is an inert Butyl Bladder on the inside the tank that provides the water pressure. You will want to follow the instructions for soaking & flushing out the tank a couple times prior using the water for drinking and cooking to ensure everything gets a good flush. Please don't hesitate to give us a call to discuss any additional questions you have in greater detail! (Contact info below)

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent, especially for a small space
*by P***N on October 27, 2018*

My tiny apartment has softened water and I live in an area with exceptionally hard water--42 parts per million. It was necessary for me to haul in drinking water by the gallon from the grocery store. I'm 75 years old and found this very difficult, so after hauling about 400 gallons, I measured the space under my sink and got the landlady's permission to install this RO system. It fits nicely under the sink with room to spare, works perfectly so far, filtering the softened water, and I am spared all that hard work. The water tastes good, even though sometimes I get some tiny bubbles along with it. There is a way to clear that, but I haven't done it yet. I recommend that if you are right-handed, that you install the spigot on the left side of your faucet. My plumber asked me 3 times if I really wanted it on the right side, and thought my reason was good, so that's where it went. I wish I had put it on the left; it's just more intuitive. I think this system is a good choice and the price is manageable.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Replacement filters are unavailable,
*by R***K on April 18, 2020*

The water produced is a good clean taste. It is average in installation difficulty. Apparently the company no longer supports this product so you can't get replacement filters. Obviously, don't buy.

### ⭐⭐ The number of positive reviews is a bit suspicious. You get what you pay for.
*by P***. on March 22, 2020*

This product would actually pretty easy to install, but the instructions make it difficult. It seems that they were written in Chinese and translated to English using Google translate. The steps are not in order. They are just random sentences and inaccurate diagrams thrown together in a disorganized hodgepodge. When I did finally figure it out, installation and sanitization were pretty easy. The quick connect fittings work pretty well. I only got one leak, from me not pushing the tube in all the way. That was easily fixed. As to how it works:My town water smells like bleach all of the time. This system makes my tap water taste like bottled. So it seems to do its job. This cheap RO system does have a design flaw that I wish I had known about; RO systems work by filtering water and pumping it into a pressurized holding tank. That water is then available for use, whenever you open the tap. As the RO system works, it produces waste water that goes down the drain. In theory, there should be a shutoff valve that stops the system from filtering once the tank is full, so that you aren’t constantly pouring tap water down the drain. This system has no such capability, though the manual falsely claims that it does. So once you turn on the water to this filtration system, it will continue to pour water down the drain until you close the feed valve yourself. So if you buy this system and you don’t want a ridiculously high water bill, you have to reach under your sink and shut the feed valve when the tank is full. This is tremendously annoying, but I already hooked the thing up, so that’s what I do. Every couple days I’ll open the valve, fill up a pitcher and jug of water for the fridge, let the tank fill up, then I shut the valve. If I had to do it again, I’d buy a different one. If anyone sells an RO system actually made in America, I’m interested.
