Excellent for inexpensive chisels.
I use these for modifications to gunstocks and some deep relief carving. For inexpensive chisels these are very nice and I'm having great success with them. They seem to sharpen up well (take the time to sharpen them after you get them, the stock edge sucks) and so far have held their edge well. If you use a mallet, make sure it's a wooden one or light synthetic. A metal hammer will ruin the handles. Also worked well for hand work without a mallet. Good bang for the buck.

Not worth the price
Bought these over a year ago. Had to sharpen them to use, but no big deal. I saw from some of the other reviews that this would be needed. They worked OK as I was only using them as gouges for rough cuts. Fast forward to today. I go to use them again (8 months since last use) and they are rusting and the wooden handles are splitting. These tools are kept indoors, in a lined tool chest, with all my other non-rusting tools.

A wonderful Christmas gift for an aspiring woodworker.
A great set of beginner chisels for the aspiring woodworker. For Christmas, I gave this set to a friend who is just learning his way around the wood shop. I cannot wait to see what he creates.

Good Item
Good. But with all chisels, sharpen them when you get them. Find a true flat block, flatten with a diamond stone, lock the bevel, and take it down to 8000 grit or higher. You will like what you get.

Good Value, servicable gouges
I'm no pro, just a hacker in the back yard, but these seem perfectly fine to me, good price. Delivery and packaging all good. Have no problem recommending them. Not a $300 set, but you don't pay $300 either.
