The rod’s adjustable length is a great feature
**SAN LIKE Adjustable Portable Telescoping Fishing Rod** As an avid fisherman who enjoys spontaneous fishing trips, I was intrigued by the SAN LIKE Adjustable Portable Telescoping Fishing Rod. I was looking for something lightweight, compact, and easy to carry for those impromptu fishing sessions without sacrificing performance. **What I Like:** - **Portability**: The telescoping design is incredibly convenient. When fully collapsed, the rod is compact enough to fit into a backpack or even a large pocket, making it perfect for travel or quick fishing outings. This portability is one of the main reasons I chose this rod. - **Adjustable Length**: The rod’s adjustable length is a great feature, allowing you to customize it based on the type of fishing you’re doing. Whether you’re fishing from the shore, a dock, or a boat, you can extend or shorten the rod to suit your needs. - **Sturdy Build**: Despite being lightweight and portable, the rod feels surprisingly sturdy. It’s made from durable materials that can handle a decent fight with medium-sized fish. The balance between weight and strength is well-executed. - **Comfortable Handle**: The rod’s handle is comfortable to grip, even during extended use. It’s well-designed with a non-slip coating that provides a good hold, even when wet, which is important for maintaining control while casting or reeling in. **What I Don’t Like:** - **Limited to Medium Fish**: While the rod is sturdy, it’s best suited for catching medium-sized fish. It might struggle with larger, more powerful fish, so it’s not ideal for heavy-duty fishing. If you’re targeting bigger species, you might want to look for a more robust option. - **Telescoping Mechanism**: The telescoping mechanism, while convenient, can sometimes be a bit finicky. It’s essential to make sure each section is securely locked in place before casting to avoid the rod collapsing unexpectedly. This isn’t a frequent issue, but it’s something to be mindful of. - **Price Point**: The price is slightly higher than some other portable rods, but given its features and quality, I find it justifiable. However, if you’re on a tight budget, there are less expensive options available that might offer similar performance. **Bottom Line:** The SAN LIKE Adjustable Portable Telescoping Fishing Rod is an excellent choice for anglers who value portability and convenience without sacrificing too much in terms of performance. Its adjustable length, sturdy build, and comfortable handle make it a versatile and reliable option for spontaneous fishing trips. While it may not be ideal for catching larger fish, and the telescoping mechanism requires careful use, its overall quality and ease of transport make it a worthwhile investment for those who enjoy fishing on the go.

Nice product
Convenient poles for setting up tarps. They work as intended, though they feel a skosh on the flimsy side, but just a little. Each section screws into the next, and you need to tighten them enough to make them stable, but not so much that they will be difficult to unscrew. A little fussy, but overall a good product.

You get what you pay for
These hollow aluminum tube that are molded to screw together can easily be overtightened causing them to not want to come apart or go back together after 1st assembly. They're not designed to hold up more then a medium-duty tarp, a heavy-duty tarp is just to heavy to counter by angling them. If you're expecting winds over 15 mph, of gusts over 25mph TAKE THEM DOWN or they will break. I basically used them for placement and the grommet connection on top, then duck-taped them to the metal-T fence posts I drove into the ground in their place, as they are not designed to stake down in any way either. Not versatile, not high quality, but fit for the job I, personally, intended them for. To say they perform well would be a misnomer because they only did as I expected. If you don't expect much they *might* work for you.

Inexpensive, compact and very useful!
I usually use the telescoping tent poles for hammock camping, but needed a quick and relatively low-cost option, when I didn't have my usual poles with me. These take a bit longer to assemble, but worked very well for me. They're light weight, easy to use and pack down to a reasonably small footprint. The only thing I would pay attention to is the spring locks popped out and got lodged inside the tube when I dismantled them. Not a big deal, and easy to fix with a long, thin stick, but it would really suck if they happened to fall out and get lost.

So far so good
We're using these to hold up a sun shade at the end of our RV awning. They are tall enough and strong enough although I would take them down if it got windy. Tall enough to walk under but a third one in the middle would nice. The spring lugs that snap the pieces together seem to be well built. Used them on 2 or 3 trips and we are happy so far.

Not ideal for windy situations
Brought these poles out to desert to help secure a shade structure made from aluminet. Aluminet allows air to pass through while still providing 80% shade strength so that it does not act like a giant sail and rip your supports out of the ground. I secured each pole with 2 guy lines each and spaced the poles approximately 4 feet apart. The other end of the "tarp" was secured to a motorhome and did not move. After a couple windy (20-30 mph) days the poles had warped into 'S' shapes due to their thin tube walls. If all you need is a simple support these may work for you, but if you need something to withstand medium to high winds, look for something more robust. The thin walls of the tube steel are far too weak for anything over 15 mph in my opinion. Positive notes: very light weight and easy to assemble and disassemble. The tip of the poles have a decent length pin to place grommeted tarps over end. Adjustable lengths. Nice bag for carrying disassembled parts. There is a rubber tip to on base segments, but they are not removable without destroying the tip.
