So simple
This is my go to screen repair tool. Its SO easy to apply these. Just cut to size, get out your hairdryer to melt the glue onto the surrounding screen area and you're done. Good cheap option to fix your screen. I have repairs that have held up for over 3 years with this product with no sign of problems. Sticks great.

Amazing Product - Works like a Charm
I am so glad I bought these patches! We have two cats, and both their middle name is “destroyer.” ;-) We had secured the bottom panel of our pool cage with a privacy netting, to save them from being ripped by the cats, so they decided trying to escape through the second level panels, and they ripped a decent sized hole in one of those panels. As soon as the patches arrived, I went to repair this hole. It was really as easy as pie. I held the patch on the hole, turned my blow dryer on high heat and blew the heat from about 1” distance on the patch. The patch started attaching almost immediately. For good measure I blew the hot air in up and down motions over the patch for a minute longer, and the job was done, the hole was fixed nicely. I am very satisfied with these patches that saved me from having to replace a humongous screen panel in the Florida heat. The little turtle you see on the picture is not part of the patch set. I bought these decals additionally here on Amazon to make the repair look a little more attractive. 😉 I highly recommend the screen patches to everyone, who is looking for an easy, effective way to fix their screens.

Overlap Patches Inside & Ouside
Didn't stick well until I put matching patches on the inside and the outside, with their adhesive sides facing each other. Tack the inside patch directly to the screen, first, before holding the second patch on the outside. I wore a silicon kitchen glove to protect my hand from the heat of the hair dryer. Squeeze the patches together while still hot.

Simple and Effective Screen Repair Solution
The Screenmend Window Screen Repair Kit worked well for a quick fix. The 5"x7" charcoal patches are easy to cut, apply, and blend nicely with the existing screen. They adhere securely once heated and cover small to medium tears without much effort. It’s not a permanent replacement for a heavily damaged screen, but for everyday rips or holes, it’s a convenient and reliable solution.

Not transparent.
Looked horrible. It does patch the hole. So if you don’t care that you can see the patch then it’s fine.

I have to highly recommend this product and wanted to offer some info after using it. First suggestion I would make to buyers is to perhaps buy 2 or 3 packages as each package contains 2 5x7 sheets and you might find you need more or want a bigger patch than cutting it. Also one question/concern i read before buying was those areas where the screen hole/tear meets the edge of the door or bottom of the door which was one thing I wanted to try fixing (cat looking to get out on porch LOL). In fixing the spots using Screenmend, I noticed that once you use the hairdryer you will be able to see when the wax is starting to melt with little bright beads (look like water droplets) when that happened I moved the hairdryer to another section of the patch. It worked perfectly (so i would recommend fixing during daylight hours so you can see this happens). Second regarding the area near the bottom of the screen. I knew it would take a bit of work and improvisation so here is what I did. I had my daughter help me and I took a piece of tape (packing tape, clear) on each side to grab the bottoms of the ripped screen and sorta hold it in place and adhere it to the bottom of the door and then we used 2 screenmends side by side and applied them over the screen, then the tape and to the bottom where the aluminum bottom meets the screen edge. it worked like a charm. Althought as other point out you can see this fix, it actually looks decent uncut pieces appear almost like a door for pets (even though I am trying to keep my cat in LOL so hopefully she wont look at it that way). It looks decent and cost only 8 bucks to fix! I should have bought a few more just in case I needed them. By the way my Cat minnie use to love the porch and sun herself but when she started climbing up to the neighbors condo upstairs and couldnt get down it was not fair to the owner to have to deal with Mt Everest climbing kitty (so if anyone knows of any anti-kitty climb up wood pole stuff let me know!)

Works great
A hurricane through our area pushed a tree branch through the screen on our porch. These screen patches saved us from having to fight off the misquotes from entering or having to cover the hole with duck tape (ugly solution). They are easy to cut and fit and seal to the existing screen in minutes with just a regular hair dryer on high. We used one patch inside of the screen on the biggest hole and then added a larger patch on the outside to be sure the it was covered securely. Several other smaller holes seemed to do fine with just one patch on the inside. It's really hard to see them once they are in place. They have held up well through 2 more hurricanes so far this year. We have extra patches on hand in case this happens again.

Great solution to holes in your screen door or porch, but not perfect...
The Screenmend product is not perfect by any means, but it is a great temporary fix. I had several holes in our screened in porch, most in the door, and they were so large they were letting bugs in. I tried a screen repair kit from one of the big box stores, but it just "clipped" on and didn't stay... it had fallen off in less than a week. I thought this might be a more permanent solution, and it has worked well for a few months now. The application is pretty simple, you just cut a piece out to fit over the hole (with about 1/2" extra all around) and then use a blowdryer to heat up the adhesive for about a minute. That's it. I repaired about 10 holes in my porch and they have all stayed with no issues. The only issue is the patches are VERY noticeable. I guess it's impossible to get the color matched perfectly, and even if you could there's the overlap of the patch on the screen that's visible. However, at the end of the day this was a much more affordable (and easier) solution than replacing the entire screen! If you have small holes in your screened in porch, definitely give Screenmend a shot before replacing the whole thing!

Was the sticky substance left on the backing paper essential to the treatment with the hairdryer?
Not too impressed by this product. Firstly, when removing the mesh from the paper backing, most of the sticky substance remained on the backing paper, because of this the mesh patch had to be held in position . This presented a few problems to the fingers with the hairdryer blowing hot an inch way. The mesh did stick in places. Had to use super glue to secure some edges. Secondly, for a pricey product like this, I expected it to be perfect for the job and it wasn’t! Perhaps a shelf life is necessary.

great solution at first
The patches were perfect in the beginning, but with time, 10 days after fixing them..the adhesive material disappears and the patch falls off

Excellent repair patch
I have a small hole in my sliding screen door, right by the handle. This went on easily and survived a couple of seasons of grandkids and winters before needing to be replaced. Best product I’ve found so far.
