OK, let’s get the first thing out of the box. This is not compatible with the new Nintendo switch.2, this was specifically designed for the original model models, No, this is a very small and very portable dock, very nice, the set up is relatively simple. All you have to do is plug in an official Nintendo switch charging brick.(the ones that are officially released or you could use a. GENKI cover dock.1,2, mini, maybe even the 3, but that kind of defeats the purpose of getting those things) no it should be noted that this thing will charge as well as anything because it is using the official power source. You can also use the HDMI connector and have it output to your TV and or computer device, it will get scratched easily if you don’t put it in a protective case, but in terms of durable quality when it comes to being in use, it is perfect…. Another thing to note is that the included extra cable it comes with you could argue can be used in lieu of, the DOCK shell itself, or you can use it to extend the reach for when you want to plug in the power cord, It has great ventilation. This is a minimalist alternative to using the official dock because in case the potential to use it on the TV phase, you can still use it as a sort of kickstand. You are getting a lot of potential out of this device for half the price of an official Nintendo switch dock, however, I feel this is important to mention while it does work in charging all Nintendo switch consoles, it will not enable you to put a Switch Lite onto the TV! If the internal components of that console don’t support it, it will not work!

This is an awesome replacement dock for Nintendo Switch, with some very clever features and great attention to detail. I bought a new Mario edition Switch (all red) and didn't want to get it all messed up from my finger oils and normal wear and tear, so I got a clear shell to cover the entire console, including the joy-con. Unfortunately, my lovely shell made the Switch un-dockable with the normal dock! I did some research and found the Skull & Co. Jumpgate Portable Dock, and decided to grab it. I haven't regretted that for one moment! The dock itself works perfectly - every time I place the Switch on it, the connection to my monitor or TV is flawless. There is a part that can be expanded upward so that the Switch is better supported as it sits on the dock; a little kickstand underneath that allows you to tilt the dock back a bit more if you are using it as a stand for tabletop mode; and an adjustment slider underneath for changing the position of the USB-C plug (this is really helpful if you have a shell on the Switch, like I do). I think the BEST feature, however, is the removable USB-C hub! That was a 'stealth' feature for me; when I looked into buying this product, I didn't realize that the hub was a separate item, and that is a winner in my book. Being able to slide it out of the dock and use it as a separate, compact dock is amazing. It's also just a solid USB-C hub that can be used with other devices, such as an iPad Pro or Macbook. There is also a short little USB-C extension cable included, which is really helpful when connecting your Switch to the hub without the dock. The ONLY downside I've observed about this dock is that it can be a little tricky to positon your Switch when placing it on the USB-C connector, as it can tilt a little bit to allow for different configurations. Bottom line: great product with many excellent features and build quality, with only one very minor design flaw. GET ONE!

The device works as advertised with some difficulty. The upshot of this device is that it's incredibly portable, even when fully assembled. I think it really shines once removed from the plastic dock as the "core" module is incredibly flat and light which makes it ideal for traveling with your Switch, laptop, Android device, etc. It also doesn't lose any functionality while in this form - it's fully functional as both a USB hub and video out device. It was a little difficult removing the core module from the dock as it's a pretty tight fit; keep applying outward pressure and you'll eventually get it out. Honestly this feature doesn't sound like much, but I've really come to appreciate it. The big problem with this device is that for some reason the USB port on the side is unreasonably tight to the point that I couldn't plug my devices into it. The ones in the back function like any normal USB port. To their credit, the customer support was understanding when I contacted them and they sent me a replacement which also has a very tight plug, but I was able to plug my devices into with some effort. If you have this issue my advice is to apply decent amount of pressure to the device you're plugging in and sort of jiggle it into place. If that doesn't work then contact their customer support; they responded very quickly. Overall it's a nice device. I'd like to see a version that has a built-in ethernet port and addresses the issue with the USB port I had, but I think I can recommend this dock.

Bought this for my Odin 2 and once you remove the bump spacer for Nintendo Switches, fits perfectly. Mouse keyboard and video work well although I only tested at 1080p. It also charged Odin 2 with no issues. You will need to buy a USB-C power adapter since one does not come with it or you can use the one supplied with your device.

Exceeded expectations. Just works when so many competing products have let me down. With gadgets: ✓ Powers a Nintendo Switch with a non-Nintendo USB-C charger (used 65W) ✓ Works for transferring files to iOS device (not yet sure how to use it with an Android phone) With PC: ✓ Allows 4k UHD resolution HDMI output from a laptop ✓ Supports my 4-port UBS 3.0 hub ✓✓✓ Powers a laptop with a 65W requirement from a 65W power supply (doesn't drain off too much energy for itself) ... while also supporting a 4k monitor and 4-port USB hub (see pic) It is: ✓ lightweight ✓ warm but not hot during use

I bought this dock for my Nintendo Switch as an easy travel solution. I bought this particular dock because the company discovered that a resistor was needed to keep from bricking your switch. This was before that information became public. I have been using it for years without any problems.

TL;DR: A great dock for everything but the Switch as it won't charge it while playing on a TV. This device is fantastic for the majority of its uses. There is only one issue I have found with it, and it is a rather significant issue: It won't charge my Switch while using it on a TV. Placing your Switch on it while in sleep mode with an HDMI cord attached to the dock will charge it perfectly fine. Playing on it without an HDMI cord attached to the dock in handheld mode with the Joycons/Pro Controller will let it charge perfectly fine. Connecting an HDMI cord to it and using it as if it were the original dock? It trickles power into it, barely extending the battery life from its handheld usage. I use the Nintendo charging cord, both USB A to USB C (with a valid outlet adapter) and the Outlet to USB C that is used on the original dock, and find it continues to have the same issue. I've tried updating the firmware of the dock to no avail. I place my Switch in its original dock and play all day and never have a problem and the Switch stays at 100%. It is possible a firmware update Nintendo released at some point caused it to detect 3rd party docks and prevent them from charging the console, but this seems oddly specific since it charges normally so long as a TV is not involved. If Skull & Co. have a resolution for this, be it firmware update, different means of power source connection, or something, I would happily change my rating and update this review as, overall, it is a fantastic phone dock, card reader, USB C to TV adapter, USB A hub to USB C device, and everything else it advertises. But not charging the Switch while using it with a TV is a rather large flaw I would love to have resolved.

I had no issues docking my original switch. It works great with the TV and works great as a stand that also charges. It has a switch on the bottom to adjust how the USB c lines up depending on whether you have a case. I especially appreciate how you can use it as a dongle for laptops and smart phones too. They provide an extra USB c extension just for this. It's clear a lot of thought went into making this product

This dock works well for connecting my switch to my TV. I was worried about the screen being scratched by the official dock, so this is an excellent alternative.
