You will need to re-focus after using the zoom.A bit of vibration is transferred through the stand, but this is because it sits on my bench where I am working (jeweler). Also, I have the stand extended quite a bit. I will be getting a 0.5 Barlow lens to double the working distance, as I can't QUITE always get my hands/tools on my work surface with the current working distance.Overall completely satisfied.
