STAR WARS THE PHANTOM MENACE UHD BD

The episode one of Starwars in 4k bluray is just fantastic. Seeing the movie again was better, than, the first time I saw it in the movie theaters! Was not bad at all after having seen it so many years at the movies and on VHS, DVD, BLURAY. It definately added something on 4K Bluray. Worth having it.

Probably my least favourite of the Star Wars films and that's including Solo and Rogue One. The cgi is phenomenal and the three way lightsaber battle is superb but what the heck was George Lucas thinking when he created Jar Jar Binks!?!... And why does Obi Wan Kanobi's hair keep changing length throughout the film??

The best picture quality you can get. Very clear image even on a 1080p screen. It's worth it. And it's Star Wars.

L'image est bluffante, les couleurs de Naboo et les scènes de podrace prennent une toute autre dimension. Boîtier amaray classique, rien de superflu, avec le CD bonus inclus. Un must pour tout fan de la saga.

While this insanely over hyped first movie of the prequel trilogy got little love from fans and critics over the years it is still mostly entertaining and firmly in the same Lucas universe as the more beloved original middle trilogy. It's a simple origin story that shows us more world building and the "discovery" and early childhood of you know who. There's an entertaining pod race and one of the best light saber duals in the entire franchise. We see a young Obi-wan Kenobi excellently portrayed by Ewan McGregor; his Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn perfectly cast with Liam Neeson and are introduced to some key characters that still populate the later (earlier) original trilogy. This Blu-ray seems to be a separate region free release done from the 4k "collectors' series" and offers a detailed and pleasantly done SDR picture. Grain is still sort of scrubbed with some DNR but overall, the colors and detail offered is a good step up from the earlier DVD releases. Sound is a solid 7.1 DTS HD Master audio with excellent object placement, immersion and a good LFE wallop. You get a 2nd Blu-ray that has a large number of special features, documentaries and more. If you just need to fill a blank space in the Star Wars prequel collection without spending an extra $10 or so on the 4k series this disc is highly recommended.
