Nice N quiet brakes

Since I have been doing my own brake pad replacements I have only used Akebono pads and have had no problems with them. These rear pads worked fine for my 2008 Toyota RAV4 V6. I apply the appropriate grease to all the factory spec points on the pads, caliper, slide pins, and piston face and have had no issues with noise or rattling. I have changed the front and rear pads multiple times over the years with no issues with this brand. This brake pad kit includes (2) types of clips. If you look at the product pics you can ID the two types by looking for a little dimple at the top of 4 of them. Those clips have a smaller gap/opening where the rotor would pass through. For my vehicle I needed to use the clips without the dimple at top and these clips have a wider gap for the rotor to pass through. I would recommend figuring out which clips you need to use by comparing to the ones you are replacing and then setting these clips aside to make sure you use them and don't get them mixed up with the clips you should not be using. I learned this the hard way after not realizing this until after I had completed one wheel and had used one wrong clip out of the 2 I had replaced on the wheel.

Top quality.

I've used Akebono brake pads on a couple of vehicles now and they work great. They are priced a little higher than anybody else, but they've got a great product and they know it. They are made in the USA which eases the strain of paying the higher price. It also helps how well they work and fit! The only complaint I might have is they included two different size clips in a single package. They should have packed them in two different bags with size markings on the outside. Have a measuring tool handy to measure the original clips and the new clips. Separate the new clips into two piles. Put the ones you won't be needing back into the box and off the bench to keep them completely separated so you don't get them mixed up. Visually, its hard to tell them apart.

Feels very comfortable, and works well. There is a sleight, but noticeable sound against the rotor when pressing the brakes, though. Not a grinding noise, but eniugh to make me double check, but no issues. Either way, it's doing it's job and very happy with the results

These fit our 2017 Toyota RAV-4 perfectly. Akebono makes great brake pads at a good price, and are the only pads I use for all our Toyotas.
