Really great for stopping sparks.
I have a 37V battery bank that I charge from solar panels. I have a DC-DC switching step down converter for running my Raspberry Pi 4 at 5V from my solar powered battery bank. The problem was, there is a lot of input capacitance in that DC-DC power supply, and it was create a big spark whenever I connected power. Not anymore! Thanks to the integrated resistor in the top part of this connector, I can now safely connect power without getting any big scary sparks. Once fully inserted, the connector bypasses the resistor and I have a nice solid connection with low impedance. These connectors are awesome! Much happier with these than Anderson PowerPole connectors someone told me I should use for DC power. Anderson PowerPole doesn't offer the internal startup resistor feature AFAIK and those connectors slip off way too easy for my purposes (battery backed, uninterruptible power for my Raspberry Pi 4 computer). I'm switching everything over to XT90's from now on.

Comes already on most batteries I get.
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of this connector style in general. I typically use Power Poles on my medium to large set-ups. I had a discussion with a rep from an RC manufacturer, and they didn't recommend using PP on the aircraft I was inquiring about as they were very restrictive and couldn't handle the current at that level (6s and over 75 amps). I also didn't like the spark on my 6s-up set ups. These connectors (indeed, even this brand) come on 99% of the batteries I buy, so I decided to convert my 6S-up set ups. I can't testify to the anti-spark feature as I haven't actually used them yet, but as I said, these come on most of the batteries I buy anyway, so at least I know there should be no issues connecting them. Soldering was relatively easy-I plug the mating connector into the one I'm soldering so it acts as a heat sunk to keep from melting the housing.
