Works well with eyeglasses, sunglasses
Loved using this hood while wearing eyeglasses. Strap and hood worked perfectly, comfortably. I have a small head lol. I flipped it up over or behind my head after entering visual conditions and never created self induced 0/0 conditions in expectantly.

Best hood for instrument training
There’s no ability to peek and cheat with this solid hood. Also does not interfere with glasses or sunglasses. Provides best way to simulate instrument conditions.

This is the hood to get for simulated IFR
This hood really blocks out your external view, my students have been making the most of it. It also works well if you wear glasses.

Better than Foggles for extensive IFR training
I really like this hood for IFR training (simulated instrument conditions). I prefer this over foggles for a few reasons: 1. I wear glasses and this is much easier to use with glasses then foggles. 2. This is much better to use during the daytime especially when the sun is low in the sky where if you turn toward the sun, the foggles make it so bright you are essentially blinded because of the scatter of the light from the foggles. 3. I also found that in general I do not have as much potential for motion sickness with this device compared to foggles. 4. It also does not interfere with the seal of noise canceling headphones like foggles since you are not putting anything over your ears to break the seal. My only real complaint with this is the size of the band. I have it at the largest size for my head and it is still a little tighter then I would like, however, it is not bad. I can wear it for 1-2 hours and it does not really cause any pain or discomfort. The other thing to keep in mind is it is not as compact as foggles so I just put the head strap around my flight bag handles and carry it on the outside of my flight back. The snaps are very secure and the hood is very durable so I have had no issues carrying it this way. I would highly recommend this for IFR training. For the limited 3 hours needed for private pilot a set of foggles is probably fine and a little more compact/convenient to carry.

Easy to use, excellent instrument scan
Initially looking at this hood, I was reminded of the clunky hoods we wore before headsets became popular and wasn't impressed. In use it proved to be lightweight, provided perfectly adequate blocking of the view outside - not perfect - and it made the instrument scan much easier than the foggles or other glasses type hoods. I could move my eyes and focus rather than turn my whole head. Plus, wearing glasses it was much better than the foggles type of hood - I wasn't constantly trying to adjust the foggles so I could focus through bifocals. The combination of ease and price made it my top pick. It was also rated the top pick by a team of reviewers at Aviation Consumer magazine.

Simulated instrument "hood" time
Great for IFR training under simulated instrument condition (under the hood). The band is tight around the head so it is very sturdy and it does not move around. There are 3 different positions to adjust the headband. Very satisfied with the purchase and will recommend to friends going for IFR rating.
