Keeps the lettuce fresher longer and that was the reason I bought it.

I absolutely love the lettuce saver. I throw my weekly bag of chopped romaine in and miraculously it lasts WAY LONGER than it did in a regular Lock ‘n Lock same-rectangular-shaped container. Truly amazing. I do not like the small berry container in this set. Blueberries still didn’t last so this piece was a waste. I might try keeping chopped celery in it and see what happens.

Nicely made and work well for storage of lettuce and other veggies. Keeps lettuce nice and fresh.

As a point of reference prefacing remarks, based on how extremely unsatisfied I've been with the clear and red Rubbermaid storage that seem to be about all I can find, it took a lot for me to take a leap and actually purchase and try this from Rubbermaid. I was pleasantly surprised. While I prefer the T brand that a lot complain about the lid for lettuce, for those that find the T-Lid a problem? You might want to consider this. Comparing 2 heads of lettuce purchased at the same time stored in both brands side by side, same conditions, the freshness of lettuce with this is not as good as with the aforementioned competitor, but I was still pleasantly surprised. It performed quite well. (Consider this, if you only purchased one head of lettuce and only used this? You would probably not notice a difference. So far, this has been a 2 and a half week comparison, and both are still fresh. Only one head of lettuce would have been gone before now.) Factor in price compared with performance, for a lot of people, they might find this a very acceptable alternative to the more expensive.

I didn't notice any difference in my veggie's longevity between storing them in a plastic bag and this container.
