I bought two Units and they have Worked Perfectly and were easy to install.
Update 14 May 2024 Both Units are still Working Perfectly after 3 Years! I am so happy with this purchase that I just bought a third one as a spare! The model might change and I at least know that this one works perfectly and still looks very modern. So now I will have a Spare in case one should die. The only issue I have ever seen is that occasionally it sends me an email that the one of the Thermostats does not have it's time set correctly. I open the App and every time the time is correct, so I just delete the Log entry and the Alert Notification is gone. I think that the Thermostat tries to get the time and maybe once every two months it just cannot reach their servers. ORIGINAL 2021 REVIEW: Great looking unit with a lot of control. The programming is a bit confusing at first because there are just so many features that it can be a bit overwhelming. The effort involved in learning it is well worth it as you will wonder how you ever lived without these features. If your into energy savings this unit is a must have thermostat as you can schedule the temperature so that it is comfortable when needed but not cooling or heating as much when your not home. Holiday scheduling etc are built in features as well as a very nice AI system that gets the temperature to where you want it at the time you want it. For instance I set the office Temp to be 73 Deg at 9AM. These thermostats calculate based on learning the temperature curve for your systems. It knows exactly when to turn on the AC so that at 9AM it is 73 Deg. In my case it learned within a day and adjust depending on the temperature in the morning. Right now the AC units come on at 7:45AM and it cools down so that when we open the office door it is perfect 73 deg inside. Heating works the same way. When closing time comes it shuts off the AC compressor but runs the AC Fan for an hour or two to dry out any moisture in the coils and ducts, this is a great feature as it eliminates the chance of mildew growing in the system. All of this is configurable in the Menus. Remote access has been great for me so far. I have not had any issues with their servers being down. I can pull up the APP on my phone and change certain things or I can do it from a PC using a web browser. I was a little disappointment that not all parameters can be changed remotely. You can change the temperature settings also change the scheduling and do manual shutdowns or turn On but the rest must be done from the head unit. I installed two of these in our offices. One controls a 10 Ton Carrier AC unit and the other a 7 Ton AC Unit. The installation was easy. The "C" terminal and "RC" terminal hookup to the 24VAC transformer and the "C" and "Y" terminal hook up to the 24VAC compressor contactor. The "G" terminal is for the Fan relay board on the AC. Pretty much a one on one wiring from any older manual thermostat it may be replacing. Overall I am super impressed with this thermostat. It keeps the time using internet servers and does not loose any settings after a power outage. If the WiFi is down for any reason it keeps on working based on the schedule and their remote servers email you to let you know the connection has been lost. It has several email alerts including the temperature going out of set parameters which might happen if someone left a window open or you HVAC system broke down. Once setup it's pretty much a mini AI system that is keeping your house or office at the temperatures that you want and alerting you if something is wrong.

Very Nice Thermostat! And a lot more
When I recently had to purchase a replacement HVAC system, I picked an Amana system. The system was a 16 SEER-rate AC system and a 96% AFUE-rated Nat Gas furnace. The system provided "communications" that required a "communicating" thermostat. Amana had one -- for $550 -- but I asked my HVAC contractor and they confirmed that I could use any Honeywell programmable/communicating thermostat. I looked at thermostats locally at Home Depot and Lowes and finally realized I should check on the Honeywell site. I found the 9000 WiFi Color Touchscreen Thermostat and realized it was what I wanted. I checked on Amazon and found two sellers. I opted to buy it and it was received in two days. It is a definite new product, not an "open box item" or a "re-manufactured item" and it comes in the original Honeywell box with all papers. I read the reviews from previous buyers and realized there was a questions about whether or not there was a one year or a five year warranty on the device - or, as suggested by one review, "...no warranty by Honeywell if you buy it on Amazon." I called Honeywell and asked about the warranty issue and whether or not buying it from Amazon made a difference. In fact, I called Honeywell twice in order to see if I got the same answer each time - and I did. Honeywell sells this thermostat (Their Model TH9320WF5003) as a "PRO Install" model. That means that it is actually intended to be sold to and installed by only a licensed HVAC contractor. I asked if I bought it from Amazon and had my licensed contractor install it as a part of my new Amana HVAC system, was I covered for the five year warranty -- and the answer was YES. However, here is the tricky part -- the part that I think has caused the differing interpretations expressed in prior reviews. Page 58 of the User Guide for this thermostat contains the text of the Honeywell Limited 5 Year Warranty. That warranty says Honeywell will repair or replace the thermostat within the five years under certain (normal) circumstances. The first option in the case of a covered failure is, "...(i) return it, with a bill of sale or other dated proof of purchase, to the place from you purchased it: or..." and the next step (in case you can'y return it to the vendor for some reason [my words, based on what Honeywell reps told me]) is to call Honeywell and they will make the determination whether the product should be returned to them at a given address for a replacement. I think the bottom line is that if you have a failure during the five years after you bought it, you will have to pursue returning it to the Amazon seller from which you purchased the device. If that seller is still in business and if you can make the required contact, you will deal with them to make the return/exchange. If you had a contractor make the original instalklation, and if you paid them to do it as a part of the installation of a new system, you would have to negotiate with them whether or not they would come oout and remove the defective device so you could return it. If they would not, you are stuck with either removing it yourself or paying some other party to remove it (and then install the replacement). If you bought it yourself and installed it yourself, you are still stuck to the warranty terms of "returning iit to the seller with dated receipt" and asking fora replacement - assuming you can contact the seller. If you bought it and had a licensed contractor install it, you have to have them come out and remove it and you may have to pay them a service call to do that work and then another service call to install the replacement. I think this is a seriously confusing situation, so here is my method of dealing with it all. I bought it from a seller on Amazon and Amazon shipped it to me on time. I had my contractor install it. They are going to give me an addendum to my contract (for the new system) stating that their chief tech installed it today as a part of the system and that I paid them to install it. However, because I bought it from a seller who may not be in business in four years, I opted to go ahead and buy the Amazon-offered 4-Year Extended Warranty (about $25). In my situation, if the thermostat goes bad within the five years, I will try to see if I can return it with my Amazon order info to either Amazon or the seller, and if that works out and I get a replacement, I will install it myself and be done with it. If that does not work out, I will pursue replacement or refund under the 4-year extended warranty I purchased from Amazon. If that does not work out, I will buy another similar thermostat and install it and be done with it. For the record, the thermostat I replaced (from my old system) still worked well enough to control the new system for two days and nights. The reason is that all of the Amana system's control features are now on the control board of the furnace and any programmable thermostat works. That thermostat was none years old this month. The thermostat before that was also a Honeywell and it was twenty-five years old and worked great - but it was not programmable. In short, the ballyhoo about a five year warranty is not much of a real concern. As to the quality and appearance of this thermostat - it it definitely a full five stars - all the way. My tired eyes can see the (adjustable) bright display and the fonts and colors work like a tablet or smartphone. I had no issues connecting with my home WiFI and the acknowledging email showed up within seconds to confirm the successful connection. I registered the thermostat and then went to my tablet and them to my phone and downloaded the app to remotely monitor and control the system. I plan to go to my Amazon Alexa device page and download and install the skill to allow my to use my array of Alexa-devices to also control the system. I am very impressed with the apparent thoughtfulness and ingenuity Honeywell has placed in this device. I have three brothers who have similar HE Amana systems and I think I know what Santa is going to bring them for Christmas -- it's that good. And, YES, I will recommend this thermostat to anyone with a modern communicating HVAC system and a home WiFi.

Very Nice Product But Requires a C Wire That May Not Be Present in Older Homes
Very nice product with a couple of "gotcha's" not made clear in the product info readily available on Amazon (other reviewers and questioners have brought these issues up, though). This product only works with 24-volt setups (the most common type). Because this product consumes a modest amount of electricity broadcasting and receiving Wi-Fi and having a lit display, it needs a return wire for "used" electricity, commonly called a C wire (which seems to correspond to the neutral wire in 110 V circuits). Older thermostats in older houses may consume so little electricity that a return path was not needed and no C wire may be provided in the thermostat wiring to the air handler/furnace.. We were lucky. Although our house was built in 1989, very conveniently there was an unused C wire (blue) in the cabling that we could hook up to the air handler/furnace. If you have no C wire or spare unused wire, you can buy a jumper unit from Honeywell that allows you to make a C wire connection to return used electricity through the C wire connector on the 9000 or employ an alternative wiring scheme that prevents your fan from running by itself. The other potential gotcha is that the box announces very clearly on both sides "PRO install/5-year warranty" but nothing in the warranty language itself states that the warranty is only valid if installed by a pro. When I called Honeywell support about something else, the tech seemed to imply, though, that I'd bought the wrong version for DYI installation, that I should have bought the RTH model and the TH models were supposed to be professionally installed.... I told him if it broke anytime soon, warranty or no warranty, I wouldn't be buying Honeywell again. And professional installation would probably cost me a fair chunk of the Amazon price of the thermostat, anyway. A final, minor quibbling point if that the display never turns off. Especially for a product designed to save you energy and help keep the planet green, there ought to be an option, if the customer desires, to have the screen go blank and only wake up when touched. The display does dim considerably though from the brightness it has when actively used. Judging by the info on the box and the firmware display when the product first boots, the Honeywell 9000 was originally designed and built at least as far back as 2013, so while it's a very nice product, it's clearly not the latest and greatest technology but hopefully that also means it's been around long enough to get all the bugs out. It would be nice if the thermostat differentiated Saturday and Sunday rather than just having a weekday and a weekend schedule with up to 4 different heating/cooling periods allowed in each type of day. The schedule in our house on Saturday and Sunday is pretty different and our old Trane XT 300 thermostats were able to accommodate that. So very nice product but do take your old thermostat cover off (unplug the furnace first) and see if your existing thermostat uses a C wire or has an unused wire in the cabling. If you have to use an unused wire to employ as a C wire, you'll need to open your furnace cover (with electricity off), find where the thermostat wires connect, find the C connector, and connect your intended C wire to that connector. Until you have a complete C wire connection to your air handler/furnace, even if you get all the other wires right, your Honeywell 9000 won't boot and just sits there with a blank display. As long as you have a C wire or can provide a C wire, it's as easy as pie to install. (if the intended C wire is totally unused, you'll need a wire stripper to strip about 3/8 in. off the ends of the wire as well as screw drivers and pliers to straighten any bent wire ends).

Basic, lacks features, but works well
I recommend that you read the app reviews for the various iOS or Android apps on the app store - the software is the main aspect of the SMART thermostats. I chose this thermostat because it connects to one particular Honeywell app, and not the other. Plus: - Schedule override gives wonderful "until time" option - It's good looking - Functions well with the phone as a remote. - I chose it because it has the programmable fan circulation option - Its the only thermostat with an app with 4 star rating - Other apps all had 2 or 3 star ratings - Easy install both thermostat, app, and wifi connection - Price was great Neutral: - It works because it doesn't try to do too much - It should be able to expand s/w features, but I don't know if they plan to Cons: - the simplicity means it doesn't have some fairly basic software features - I hope they upgrade s/w and add more daily program events (it has only 4, which is barely enough). - It doesn't really work with Google Home. The apps link but the google home speaker can't seem to see it. Overall: we always have someone home, and this gives great basic program and override remote and panel control. I would probably buy it again, but I'd check to see if other apps improved their 2 & 3 star ratings first

Works great, simple to learn and use!
I have used this unit for a few years, put in at the time I put new A/C system. Last month I wanted to add two more of these Wi-Fi units. Honeywell still makes them and I bought two more. I may have been able to install them myself; I could have done all the Internet setup, however my A/C guy said if I buy the units (Amazon!) heโd do the wiring for cheap! Canโt beat that! Good product!

Easier to install and set up than I thought and works well with Alexa
While my house is 106 years old, we installed a forced air A/C system about 15 years ago. The system ran on a four wire, battery-powered thermostat with no C wire. Before purchasing this unit I opened the thermostat and found that there was a fifth wire, a blue one that was left unused. In checking the A/C unit itself, I found the installation manual and opened the access to the control panel. The blue wire was again, not connected but the schematic in the manual clearly showed where it should be attached and the C terminal was clearly marked. The rest was a snap. When the Honeywell unit arrived, it took only minutes to pull the old thermostat and install the new unit. The instructions on hooking up the unit to wifi were directly from the touch screen when the unit was powered up. While specific, they were easy to follow using my laptop. They probably would have been just as easy using my Samsung Galaxy phone. I then loaded the Honeywell Total Connect Comfort app as an Alexa skill and the two software systems linked almost immediately. The on-screen setup instructions on the thermostat were a breeze to cycle through and took only a minute or so to set up our rather simple weekly schedule. The touch screen works perfectly and is VERY easy to understand and use. They work exactly the same on the phone app. The app allows the system to be operated remotely from anywhere you can connect. Next, the ultimate test, would the system work with Alexa. The first commands were just to change the temperatures up and down. No problem, immediate response. However, what I really wanted was to be able to turn the whole system off and on. I asked Alexa to, "Turn the A/C off." She responded something like, "The app does not support that option." Very disappointed. Then it occurred to me, I may have muffed the command. I changed to, "Alexa, turn the A/C SYSTEM to off." Bingo! "Alexa, turn the A/C SYSTEM to cool." Perfect response. I have not yet tried to set up a routine where I ask Alexa to do multiple things when leaving the house like, "Guard the house, turn the AC off, start the vacuum." but I'll work on it. Smart houses are a learning experience for both the owner and the house.

Great Thermostat....when the sensor doesn't die.
We have separate systems for A/C and heat - forced air for A/C and a boiler with radiators for heat. The A/C occasionally froze us out, so a few months ago I got one of these thermostats so we could control it through the app. Installation of the thermostat, wifi configuration, and app setup was very easy. It worked very well and was very convenient. A few months later I ordered a matching thermostat for the heating system. This thermostat requires a โCโ wire, which my boiler system did not have, so I installed the thermostat with a โCโ wire adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DJ7RHS5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which worked flawlessly. Everything was working great until one day we got an error saying, โThe sensor in your thermostat has encountered an error. The thermostat will need to be replaced.โ Some research yielded no results and a hard factory reset did nothing to fix the issue. Thankfully, Amazon let me return the item as defective. I replaced it with the exact same model, as the thermostats are right by each other and I want them to match. I installed the new one and got the same error within a few hours. I had Amazon replace it once again. After about a week, the most recent one is still working. Iโve actually, had no issues (so far) with the original one, so I donโt know what happened in the months between the purchase of the two โidenticalโ units. Honeywell may have changed their manufacturing or QA. Overall, they are very attractive, easy to use, the web program is relatively easy to navigate, and the app is very straight forward. Unfortunately, as long as we own these units, Iโll just be waiting for them to fail and having to fork out more $ for new ones. I like them, but if one goes bad again, theyโll both be replaced with a different brand, which will be double the money for matching thermostats for our two systems. ***UPDATE*** After about three weeks with the newest one of these, it's given me the SAME error!!! Time to cut my losses and move on to a different brand.

Excellent product, but a couple of things to be aware of
Be aware that Honeywell markets this particular model through the HVAC dealer channel. As such, Honeywell indicates this is intended to be installed by an "HVAC professional", not an end user. With that said, I was told in an email response from Honeywell customer service that there are no feature or capabilities differences between the two models. The internal installation docs are slightly different (more hand holding on the retail version). Also, the retail version comes with a 1 year warranty. This has a 5 year warranty. Be aware that Honeywell customer service will not answer ANY questions regarding this unit from a consumer. (I tried.) The unit looks and works great. The setup and programming is much easier than my previous Honeywell digital, non wifi unit and setting it via the internet is painless and quick. Be aware that if you don't have a "common wire" available, installation gets more complex in a hurry. I ended up having it installed because of some non-standard work arounds by a previous AC contractor, so I don't blame that on the unit or documentation. If the wiring had been typical and a C-wire had been present, it would have been very easy to install. You'll also find YouTube videos on installation of this unit that are helpful. Regarding this vendor, when I had installation questions and Honeywell wouldn't help, I attempted to contact the seller. There is no phone number either on Amazon or on their direct website. I reached out to them via Amazon messaging, through their website form and via email. In all cases, I requested a phone call since it wasn't practical to explain the questions in writing. I received one (prompt) response from the three methods asking "what the question was". I responded that I'd like to talk with someone. No phone call or other follow up was ever received. Be aware that you will apparently not be able to speak with anyone from this vendor. Product: 5 stars. Vendor: 2 stars (because it arrived promptly and was correct, big mark down for refusal to call me).

Love the Thermostat!
I replaced my standard Lennox Thermostat for the Honeywell 9000 Wifi Smart Thermostat. I use this product with my Lennox 2 stage Furnace. My original thermostat did have the "C" Wire which the 9000 requires. Installation and instructions were straight forward, just make sure you document all the wires on your existing thermostat. The 9000 can be used in PROGRAMMABLE and NON- PROGRAMMABLE (simple) mode and can be controlled remotely from a Desktop or IPhone App. I love the colorful display as it is very appealing. I am very satisfied with this product and pleased with my selection. I would buy this product again.
