willl this work on xbox 360?

Yes with the proper base unit. This is a wheel only. I ise it for the F-1 games and makes tyre, brake bias, fuel consumption andm other changes easier due to the rolling switches. At least for me.

Had anyone tried to mod this into a G27 and succeed?

Yes, it is not to difficult to adapt it to the G27.Search the internet and you will find how to do it.I am using the JZ quick release now to attach it to the G27 but there are other ways to do it.

Is there a comfortable button (other than paddle shifters) that could be used for throttle and braking?

I would suggest either our T3PA, or T3PA Pro pedals as it is difficult to control the throttle and braking thru a streering wheel.

Do all the buttons and dials on the wheel work?

No, the center control is a glued on fake knob, and the 5 rotary switches that surround it are all fake (just semi-3D embossed on the face of the wheel, with stickers applied around the raised/embossed area).The 8 small momentary push buttons, 2 D pads, 3 toggle switches, shift paddles, and the 2 thumb wheels are functional, but all but the thumb wheels and D pads are really cheesy.The thing looks very tacky/cheap in person, and IMHO: it's way over priced.The Alcantara wheel is a much better built and feeling wheel.I use it exclusively now after trying the F1 a few times ... which I don't use at all anymore.I'll probably sell or trade it for something if I don't just hang it 'way up' on a wall to use as a decoration in my game room. I strongly recommend that you try to see one first hand, before buying.
