This is a great starter set for new pottery students. There are a lot of tools in this set and it's a perfect set for someone starting out, as the wide variety will help someone figure out what works for them . Some tools here most people probably would never use and others are tools any potter would pick up over and over again. Some tips are repeated in the set, which is odd, and overall, this is not a high quality set. But I do recommend this set if you're a newbie, to try things out and see what works for you. Over time after learning what tools I preferred, I purchased better quality versions and a few others from this set I still use. A few needed the metal bit glued back into the wood, handle. No biggie - they get wet and come loose. Others in this set are pretty useless, but that's OK. Hoping this review doesn' t discourage you, because I will say this: These aren't top quality pottery tools, but for the low price, I can't think of a better set to start a pottery journey with.

If you’re just getting into sculpting or another hobby requiring these tools, this is an excellent way to get a large amount of tools to find out which ones you like or need. Although not the most incredibly made, they are also not cheap junk. This set does give you a good starting point and when you learn which tools you need the most, you can always upgrade later, but you don’t have to worry that these will break in a week. I’m satisfied with my purchase and happy to dive into my sculpting!

Nice inexpensive set. Will last a long time. Sturdy. Over time, you can upgrade what you use and pay way more than this whole kit, but that’s another level of commitment. I like this set and recommend it. Great gift to someone taking a class.

My sister and I decided to try our hands at sculpting for the first time, and this set worked just fine for us! We each found tools that we ended up using throughout the whole project, and I feel like it had mostly everything we could have wanted. The only thing I wish we had was a piece with a ball on the end to smooth out the irises of the eyes once I cut those out. We were working with WED clay which is very soft, and I'll say that if we were working with harder clay, some of these tools MIGHT have been a bit flimsy or broken on that. But for our purposes, everything has worked well so far. Overall I'd order this again.

Everything you could possibly need as a beginner for a ceramic class. I tried out every tool and they are well made and stand up after two semesters. I believe I paid $20 for this set and you can easily pay that for a 5-9 pc set. It's nice to have the extra tools though I find I use the same 9 tools all the time. I'm happy with this set. I recommend this set.
